I was just watching a show about men who choose to become women, aka transexuals. They really feel they were meant to be women. That is where they identify themselves. My question is this....does this type of "illness" fall under the same rulings as homosexuality? Is it possible that their genetics were really just that screwed up? I would be interested in knowing what you all think. I don't know why I watched....nothing else on the tube!

salamu alaykum

Prophet muhammad s.vs has cursed men who immitate women and women who immitate men. What they say, is a clear lie and a result of their evil society. Allah is Just, and does not do injustice.

I watched a science show on that on T.V. My science teacher also went into this.

If you ask any scientist/doctor who are expert on this issue they calim that most of it is actually psychological. This psychological issue derives from childhood behavoir. Most men actually feel that way because they never had a Father figure around to teach them how a boy should transition into a man. So thefore the boy clinged on to the mother and picked up the female like behavoir and it was hard wired into the deep consious.

On the other hand, on some uncommon cases, it is possible to be born a half male and half female. When I was taught this, the scientific evidence was quite clear. For some women, they felt that they always were men. Its because their cliterous developed longer than it was supposed to. Due to this, the female would have the looks of a female but would have the behavoirs of a man. For instance the woman who I read about, when she was young, she always played rough with kids her age (i.e wrestling, boxing) and as she grew she started to act more and more like a male even though she was surrounded by females.

For men, its about the same thing.

But like I said, its mostly psychological. However, there are people who are born like that. I an't rememebr the scientific name for it but people who are half-male and half-female existed since the beginning of time. Its recently that scince is actually backing it up with evidence.

Then where do they fall in the "sin" category? Are they homosexual or straight depending on which way you look at it?

To be honest, I personally dont' worry about it. Its not my business, it's Allah (swt) to decide. I can't play his role to pass judgement. So really I dont know because I dont pass judgement on others. Expecially because since there evidence that people can be born like that. Its kinda like how people are born with disabilites. You know what I mean?

it s change allah creation.

'' They invoke in His stead only females; they pray to none else than Satan, a rebel (117) Whom Allah cursed, and he said: Surely I will take of Thy bondmen an appointed portion, (118) And surely I will lead them astray, and surely I will arouse desires in them, and surely I will command them and they will cut the cattle' ears, and surely I will command them and they will change Allah's creation. Whoso chooseth Satan for a patron instead of Allah is verily a loser and his loss is manifest. (119) He promiseth them and stirreth up desires in them, and Satan promiseth them only to beguile. (120) For such, their habitation will be hell, and they will find no refuge therefrom. (121) '' Quran chapter 4 - Annisa

Sex-change operations

Question:
Is it permitted for a person to change his sex from a woman to a man or vice versa? Please give evidence from the Qur’aan and Sunnaah.

Answer:

Praise be to Allaah.

It is not permissible for a person to change sex from male to female or vice versa. The Muslim has to be content with what Allaah has decreed, for He has placed him in a suitable position. He does not know – perhaps if he was female that would not be good for him, or if she was male that would be bad for her. Similarly, there are some people for whom nothing but poverty is good, and if Allaah made such a person rich it would be harmful for him; and there are others for whom nothing but richness is appropriate, and if they became poor that would be harmful to them.

Some women wished that they could be men who would fight in the way of Allaah. This was just wishful thinking, but Allaah revealed the prohibition of that wishful thinking in the aayah (interpretation of the meaning):

“And wish not for the things in which Allaah has made some of you to excel others. For men there is reward for what they have earned, (and likewise) for women there is reward for what they have earned”

[al-Nisaa’ 4:32]

If mere wishful thinking is forbidden, then how about taking action based on that? If the Muslim is forbidden to change the creation of Allaah in minor cases, so how about changing sex altogether?

Shaykh ‘Abd al-Kareem al-Khudayr

Changing one’s sex is a kind of tampering with the creation of Allaah and following the way of the Shaytaan who vowed that he would misguide the sons of Adam in this way and in others, as Allaah tells us that he said:

“and indeed I will order them to change the nature created by Allaah”

[al-Nisaa’ 4:119 – interpretation of the meaning]

We ask Allaah to keep us safe and sound.

asalaamu alakum, very insightful mashallah...and to add more to that dianek, some of them once they get the operation, they still arent happy with themselves. Ive even found while surfing the net transvestities wearing niqab now these aoothubillah! (i was looking for niqabis on another site) They say how they enjoy to wear it and how they feel secure. there are so many kinds of illnesses out there. you have some people who WANT to be amputees! peple who WANT to have AIDS! i dont know if you can call that an illness but thats just sick. take any abnormal psychology class and im sure you would run across it.
May Allah protect us all from the Zalimun
