online prayer timings..

salam alaykum

are those prayer timings online like on islamicfinder rite????.....cause like they contradict the adhan timings at my place.......like it said 2.50 asr but the adhan is heard at around 3.45 ...but then of their prayers timings are exact with the adhan here which is of isha and maghrib and fajr

Wa'alykum salaam,

I had exactly the same problem few months ago when I tried a software, but it was never accurate enough and I wasn't happy with it at all either.

Salat time tables can most often be obtained from the mosque in hard copy, no? If not, may be try contacting the mosque team and they will Insha'Allah help you in getting the hard copy of the time table each month.

Bear in mind, that according to hanafi fiqh the timings for Asar are later everyday in comparison to the other three schools.

That may explain why you've mentioned the Asar adhaan as being particularly late in relation to Islaamicfinder.

wa-alaykum salaam

so islamicfinder is rite then i guess......

but then does that mean if islamicfinder says asar at 2.50 then dhur finishes at 2.50 rather than 4.45 when the adhan is for asar?.....

Brother,

You can set your prayer times (software) on Islamic finder to fit the hanifi mahtab. I did it a while ago and can't remember how but it is definitely possible. It just changes the asr prayer time, everything else is the same.

i still dont get it does that mean dhur finishes at 4.45 when the adhan of asar is?.......or 2.50 when islamicfinder says asar

its all about difference of opinions.

in shafee school, asr time starts after "one shadow length".

and in hanafi school, abu hanifa (ra) says after "2 shadow length" but Imaam Abu Yusuf and Imaam Muhammad (two leading students of Imaam Abu Hanifa) hold the same view as Shaaf'ee.

so i think 2:50 pm is Shafee time and 3:45pm Hanafi time for asr.

therefore ur salaat @ 2:50 pm will be valid.

and Allah knows best.

as u r hanafi and can have masjid in ur area, i think u must go by the local masjid's adhan. how u'll join jamaat if u'll pray before asr adhan @ ur area?
