ASSALAMUALAIKUM ALL

Allah says in the Quran in Surah Luqman Chapter 31 verse 34 that no one knows when will it rain except ALLAH.But today science has advanced and we can tell in advance when it is going to rain so how can we explain this verse.

Brother the translation of the verse you quoted is
" Lo Allah! with Him is the knowledge of the Hour. He sendth down the rain, and Knoweth that which is in the wombs. No soul knoweth what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul knoweth in what land it will die. Lo Allah is Knower, Aware."
This translation creats no confusion hopefully.

:salam2:

the way in Arabic to connect a series of statements is using a waw. It can be said, "and" or it can be noted with a comma or even a period. The structure of Arabic is different than English.

so in this Ayah; Msyed gave you a translation and here I will give you Hilali and Khan's translation:

Verily, Allah! With Him (Alone) is the knowledge of the Hour, He sends down the rain, and knows that which is in the wombs. No person knows what he will earn tomorrow, and no person knows in what land he will die. Verily, Allah is All-Knower, All-Aware (of things).

the other thing, although advancement of technology identifies the possibility of rain, who is to say there will be benefit from it where things will grow. Also, where I live in the states all there forecasts are around 50%. Meaning flip a coin to decide whether its going to rain or not.

wa Allah ya3lam

The Six Pillars of Iman

Belief in Allah,

Belief in the malaekah (angels)

Belief in the kitab kitab (revealed books)

Belief in the Rasul rasul (commissioned Messengers (peace be upon them).

Belief in the resurrection and the events of Qiyamah.

Belief in the predestination by Allah of all things, both the (seemingly) good and the (seemingly) bad.

They do not truly know.

:salam2:

Are they able to tell what it will be like in a year?

They don't predict the weather.

They tell us what they have observed using satellites.

Then they tell us what is LIKELY (that Allaah sw has decreed) to happen according to what they understand of the laws of nature which Allah sw originated.

Assalamu allaicum wa raahmatullah wa baraktuhu dear sister/ brother.

Yes, SubhnaAllah, Allah is knower of everything, like you have mentioned in this Surah Allah sais that only He knows when rain will fall, but this ayah does not mean only that Allah knows when rain will fall, but also Allah knows in which time exactly it will fall, how many drops will fall, and in which amount will fall. Only Allah knows on which place, each drop will fall SubhnaAllah, while to people that is unknown. To peple has been given only part of knowldge, but still Allah knows the best about everything.

May Allah bless you

mashallah sister, well analyzed, I could't agree more, only Allah knows how many drops will fall each place on earth. Allah said " wamaa utitum minal ilmii illa qalila" we are only given little bit of the knowledge. Allah knows best

If you look at all translations of the meaning and the arabic meaning itself, it means Allaah alone knows these things:

Indeed, Allah [alone] has knowledge of the Hour and sends down the rain and knows what is in the wombs. And no soul perceives what it will earn tomorrow, and no soul perceives in what land it will die. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted.

On top of that there are ahadeeth which explain and point out that rainfall is of the matters of the unknown and specifically reference this verse. No one knows where, how, when, and how much is going to rain at any given time until it has happened.

The prophet :saw: said:
... The [day of Judgement] is one of the five things (wrapped) in the unseen. No one knows them except Allah. Then (the Holy Prophet) recited (the folowing verse):" Verily Allah! with Him alone is the knowledge of the hour and He it is Who sends down the rain and knows that which is in the wombs and no person knows whatsoever he shall earn on morrow and a person knows not in whatsoever land he shall die. Verily Allah is Knowing, Aware. ... {muslim 1:6} And other ahadeeth as well.

And if you look to current weather forecasts, they are wrong as many times as they are right when it comes to rainfall. Every time I looked at the forecast to see if it is going to rain reality was almost always the opposite of what they said. From then on I said if these guys are 50% right it means this is pure guess work. Even when they declare rainfall, they never announce "it is going to rain exactly here at this time", but what they usually say is "30% chance of precipitation tomorrow". That's not knowing when rain is going to come! It's much like the following scenario: if you are in a 240mph car crash you will most likely die. That is why we avoid such things, but at the same time do we really know whether you would die or not? You might come out alive without a single scratch, it is all purely Allaah's will.

If Allaah declares rain a matter of the unseen then no human being nor jinn no matter how smart would be able to figure it out with 100% certainty. And Allaah knows best.

ASSALMUALAIKUM

DEAR BROTHER

U HAVE ASKED A VERY QUESTION ALHAMDULILLAH MAY ALLAH REWARD YOU FOR U HAVE READ THE QURAN AND TRIED T UNDERSTAND ITS MEANING

NOW LET ME TELL YOU WHENEVER PREDICTION COMES

The weather report reads only are possibilities of rain in the next 24 hours.

and they do not give any gurantee."I being a humble muslim challenge all the scientists of the world to give them a gurantee that rain would come at such and such a time.

and my allah would is the one who who knows till the day of judgement when and where is it going to rain.and how much is ti going to rain

and this department is so weak that they give a predicition with the help of a satellite that too only after the formation of clouds . so My dear brother understand if tehy do it tehy do it only with the help of latest equipments and that too only after formation of clouds .

i come from a village
and even in my village i know of experienced people who can tell before some time taht it is going to rain heavily this does not mean they have teh knowledge of unseen . But they have just doen simple calculations.their predictions may or may not coem true but whjat my allah has decided will suirely coem true

anyways if ai ma wrong please correct me and pray for me my gudance if this has been helpful then also pray for me

jazakiAllahukhairan,
may I add to your mention this Ayah, so we can ponder on it, even more!
Ayat 59 of Surat Al-AnA'm 6 :

6_59.jpg

[Saheeh_International] And with Him are the keys of the unseen; none knows them except Him. And He knows what is on the land and in the sea. Not a leaf falls but that He knows it. And no grain is there within the darknesses of the earth and no moist or dry [thing] but that it is [written] in a clear record.

[Hilali-Khan] And with Him are the keys of the Ghaib (all that is hidden), none knows them but He. And He knows whatever there is in (or on) the earth and in the sea; not a leaf falls, but he knows it. There is not a grain in the darkness of the earth nor anything fresh or dry, but is written in a Clear Record.

It is beyond what a human can comprehend, how all this could be managed, but this our Lord, Allah, and He with His Mercy, told us: That is the only way we would know. SubhanAllah!

BarakaAllahufeekum

Please do forgive the way I write, I kinda lost good communication skills in English.

Jazzak allah khair dear brother. May Allah increase your knowledge even more and may we all benefit from it InshAllah.

I remember my beloved grandmother once said"Weather reports are only counting clouds, and Allah is the one who drops the rain".

Narrated Qatada: Anas I said, "While Allah's Apostle (p.b.u.h) was delivering the Friday Khutba (sermon) a man came and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Rain is scarce; please ask Allah to bless us with rain.' So he invoked Allah for it, and it rained so much that we could hardly reach our homes and it continued raining till the next Friday." Anas further said, "Then the same or some other person stood up and said, 'O Allah's Apostle! Invoke Allah to withhold the rain.' On that, Allah's Apostle I said, 'O Allah! Round about us and not on us.' " Anas added, "I saw the clouds dispersing right and left and it continued to rain but not over Medina." (Sahih Bukhari).

May Allah bless you dear brother and all Muslims.Ameen
