:salam2:
Alright, show's over folks. This was fast becoming a joke, if it wasn't already and it's really not worth anyone's time and efforts.
Hammy has been banned for the following reasons outlined:
1. This thread and others are only increasing him in his attitude. Whether he likes to admit it or not, his lack of understanding in the English language is proving to be a huge impediment in understanding what we are trying to say. This is not a matter of being rude, it's just an honest statement - and fact is, he doesnt have to have a PhD, that's not what we're saying.
I know other brothers and sisters here who have English as second languages and understand very well what is being said, but he's clearly either not trying to do so, or just isn't capable of doing so. And so to save himself from further harm, he's being removed.
I pray that maybe one day he'll be able to understand by some other means.
2. He has thus far called at least 3 of our members hypocrites according to his own desires. This was not his first time doing so, and in Islam, it's no small thing to call another person a hypocrite. This is quite following in line with how some of the other members were banned, such as for implying takfeer on other members. How is it possible to hold a rational discussion with someone who insists on not responding to points or admitting their mistakes but instead relies on calling names not substantiated.
I admit hammy has been called out for his ignorance and arrogance, based on the way he has been acting and behaving - but to simply call out names such as hypocrite and his emotional banter, it's not worthy of discussion.
3. Accusing brother Harris Hammam of being a Messiah of ours. I mean really ... what an unsubstantiated cheap shot.
4. He thinks he's some strange hero come to bring correct debate onto the forum, and save everyone from Bid'ah, when the truth is, him and his lot of friends caused nothing but havoc and trouble. Anyone can see that in the periods that they were gone, the whole thread settled down. False beliefs, and false bravado are huge flaws. And now he's trying to antagonize the "Mods" he accuses of hypocrisy and others to un-ban him and his friends because he accuses us of being 'afraid' of being confronted, when truth is, their 'debates' had NO substance.
Read them - what scholars have he and his friends quoted? And the utter degrading of scholars when they act like they don't need them, when it's on the backs of theses scholars that Islam was carried this far. And even having the guts to act like they can investigate when lacking even basic Arabic, as is evidenced. Allahu'l Musta'an
5. Furthermore, his status on this site is dubious. I asked him publicly in this thread about if he had a second account or not, he decided to PM me neither confirming nor denying, nor did he give a straight answer when put on the spot in question about it.
He came back just when the others were banned after saying he wouldn't, and then has begun a lobbying campaign. That's not how things work. Moderation questions are kept private, yet he has failed to address concerns privately and is now just heading into public lobbying.
I was going to delete Hammy's posts. But then I decided not to. I believe that although it's dirty and messy and contrary to TTI standards, now everything is laid out there. What's been said to him, and what he's said in return. I've deleted a few posts because he included more cheap shots in there, but I fear this may give the false impression that in all, he was conducting himself better than it was.
And lastly, he's been removed because I think it's bringing out the worst in others. His attitude and manner of address, coupled with lack of base respect. I've also found at times, that replying to him has been frustrating and difficult, especially when after trying to be civil all I received back was accusations, and this has been a trend. Diverting the topic and stirring up fitnah, and sometimes it's hard to judge the best way to deal with it. So forgive me as well for any shortcomings in the matter, regarding myself or my words.
Generally it's not TTI policy to bring banning reasons public unless necessary. But I felt it warranted in this case because our Moderation has numerously been brought into question by all of these members, and I don't want others to feel that there may be some legitimacy there.
If there are any questions or other concerns in this regard, feel free to send me a VM (my PM box is a little full at the moment) and I'll try to reply accordingly insha'Allah.
