Which Prophet Suffered the greatest ?

Also I would like to share one incident which I heard:

Hadith Sahih Al Bukhari4:454

Narrated 'Aisha:
That she asked the Prophet('alyhissalatu wassalam) , 'Have you encountered a day harder than the day of the battle) of Uhud?" The Prophet replied, "Your tribes have troubled me a lot, and the worse trouble was the trouble on the day of 'Aqaba when I presented myself to Ibn 'Abd-Yalail bin 'Abd-Kulal and he did not respond to my demand. So I departed, overwhelmed with excessive sorrow, and proceeded on, and could not relax till I found myself at Qarnath-Tha-alib where I lifted my head towards the sky to see a cloud shading me unexpectedly. I looked up and saw Gabriel in it. He called me saying, 'Allah has heard your people's saying to you, and what they have replied back to you, Allah has sent the Angel of the Mountains to you so that you may order him to do whatever you wish to these people.' The Angel of the Mountains called and greeted me, and then said, "O Muhammad! Order what you wish. If you like, I will let Al-Akh-Shabain (i.e. two mountains) fall on them." The Prophet said, "No but I hope that Allah will let them beget children who will worship Allah Alone, and will worship None besides Him."

This happened around the year of grief.

Prophet Mohammad salallahu alayhi wasallam.
Nabi alayhi salam said that there was no prophet who was more troubled in history than him. In fact, the sufferings of all the prior prophets put together would pale in front of the troubles and sufferings faced by our beloved nabi.

To put things in perspective, the earlier prophets lived for hundreds of years while our nabi alayhi salaam faced persecution from the time he received nabuwaat when he was forty years old and it spanned for a period of twenty three years.

Wa'alaikumussalam Warahmatullahi Wabarakatuh

As per the Prophets of Allah, they are divided into two. They are Ulil Azm and others. Just only 5 Prophets among 124,000 got the name of Ulim Azm (Ones of Strong Aim (please forgive me if the translation is wrong, as I dunno the exact word)). Those are the Prophets which Allah tested very hard. They are Nooh, Ibrahim, Moosa, Eesa and Muhammad (peace be upon them all).

Also there are other Prophets who suffered a lot, from different calamities. One of them is Ayyoob ('alayhissalam). Plus, there were Prophets who were killed by the people too.

It is not allowed to make distinctions between one another of the Prophets. Rather, we believe up to the limit Allah said in the Quran.



"The Messenger believeth in what hath been revealed to him from his Lord, as do the men of faith. Each one (of them) believeth in Allah, His angels, His books, and His apostles. "We make no distinction (they say) between one and another of His apostles." And they say: "We hear, and we obey: (We seek) Thy forgiveness, our Lord, and to Thee is the end of all journeys."" (Surah al-Baqarah, Verse 285)
