:subhanallah: I am so humbled and eternally grateful to :allah: Subana Wa Ta'ala who forgave me of my sins and opened my mind, body and soul finding me worthy to the truth and inviting me to Islam :hawla: on 8 Rabi Al-Awwal 1432 H during Egyptian revolution when I experienced the absolute power of prayer as I watched on TV for the first time in Tahrir square, Muslims pray :salah: . , :hamdulila: , I began reading Qur'an and as I read Al-Fatihah and first few pages of Al-Baqarah, :subhanallah: I knew I was about to find out what I always prayed for, the meaning of life, serenity and peace of mind. On 2 Ramadan 1433 H I went to local Masjid to celebrate with my Muslim Brothers and Sisters, I declared , As-Sahadah :shahadah: , :allahuakbar: , my spirit was awakened realizing I was always a Muslim by heart but did not know until Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala :hawla: decided it was my time to live and to be given a right to life with dignity through the Muslim way of Life of Prophet Muhammad :saw:

Assalamu alaykum Fatima,

Alhamdulillah Allah brought you to Islam! I am also a convert, alhamdulillah! I am very happy for you to find what you were looking for. I also was looking and Allah gave me what I needed, Islam. I ask Allah to guide you and protect you. Living by what He gives us in the Noble Quran and the hadith of Prophet Muhammad(pbuh) is better than anything in this life. Alhamdulillah rabbil alamin!

Walikum asalamu warahmatullahi wabarakahu Sister Harb, Please forgive me if was unclear. From my perspective of how that Friday changed my life, I watched 2 million Egyptians praying in Tahrir Square. I recognized immediately the way they were praying was that I read in the Bible. I also believed throughout my life in the power of prayer. I felt this was a miraculous event of a regime stepping down in 18 days of revolution and awakened me that not only the power of prayer is powerful but the power of Muslim prayer was answered and set as example of putting our lives back into perspective. Insha'Allah this helped you understand what I was trying to say.

Thanks sister now I understood your meaning. I was thinking word "mubarak" by its Arabic meaning (mubarak = blessed), not just in Egyptian meaning (Hosni Mubarak). Forgive me sister.

Mash'Allah, I took a year because I felt I was not worthy to enter Masjid into such a pure religion until purified of thoughts and behavioiurs of my upbringing, my study came in the way of reading Qur'an daily, learning dua's, learning and begiinning 5 calls to prayer and learning to fast so I can learn etiquette as a Muslim but I already had taken Shahada in my heart, Insha'Allah you make Shahada in Masjid as soon as possible, don't delay you never know when you're day of judgment will come upon you. May Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala keep you safe and guide you to the straight path and narrow gate to Jannah ... Ameen

Please forgive me Sister if my response and dua sounded arrogant in anyway, I only try to convey how I have learned that solitude and Qur'an study and time with Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala is best for our deen as this gives us the ability for self criticism and keeps us humble especially when we don't realize we are rising up with arrogance instead of asking Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala always to keep us humbled. “God does not love arrogant showoffs” 4:36

May Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala keep us safe and guide us to the straight path and narrow gate of Jannah .... Ameen

We also must be careful of where we get our English translations, please forgive me and why learning the Arabic language is so very critical. That ayat should read "....Lo! Allah loveth not such as are proud and boastful," 4:36

The original poll question does not make sense.

One is not supposed to doubt the power of Allah, therefore , whether Mubarak's regime has felt or not should not have an impact on our prayers, as we should always pray and be optimistic with Allah's power .. let everything on Allah's hand

Asalamu alaykum warahmatullahi wabarakahu, My apologies the question does not make sense to you, this is wonderful you have never been in a place where you have never needed a boost of faith. Unfortunately in my life as a recent revert becoming Muslim gave me the biggest boost of faith. I think it is wonderful Muslim born people don't need occurrences to boost their Imam. Unfortunately the whole world isn't always born into this and we need a wake up call and why Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala is so merciful to call us to prayer 5 times a day.

Suban'Allah, my story of how I was called to Islam when I told my Muslim sisters here when I reverted, they cried and told me their faith was boosted since sometimes Muslims take the religion for granted and forget how special it is. They told me I should tell more Muslims and Non Muslims but the extended version, instead I told the short version and then asked a question wondering if others witnessed the true miracle and major world sign of the times from Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala. May Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala keep us all guided and humbled on our journey home. Ameen

I believe even as Muslims we always needto be reminded of the power of Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala daily especially when the world is shown in such a profound way how his power works to Muslims and Non Muslims alike. Just as Prophet Muhammad Sallallahu alayhi wasallam reminds us as Muslims to read Surah Al-Mulk every night before we go to bed "as it reminds them of the Sovereignty of Allah" Without daily or profound reminders we tend to forget how powerful his Sovereignty really is and can cause us to loose our way very easy. The Egyptian revolution especially that specific day, even here in Canada as we still share the world and Egypt has a very special place in my heart since I was a child, called me to prayer and saved my life, I was wondering if it did the same for anyone else. Insha'Allah my question makes sense to others who also was saved because of that day. ( That day reminded me, since at the time I was a Christian, of an excerpt from Exodus 3 that says, "I am the God of Abraham, the God of Issac and the God of Jacob ... I have observed the misery of my people who are in Egypt; I have heard their cry on account of their taskmasters. Indeed, I know their suffering and have come down to deliver them from the Egyptians , and bring them up out of that land to a good and broad land, a land flowing with milk and honey...") Suban'Allah, that land is Islam

Asalamu Sister, I thought about your confusion in my poll question and Deen may have been a better word if I was speaking to only Muslims at the time I speak but my audience was toward anyone who was reading this, including Non Muslims like Christians or Jews, or those who at the time of the Revolution suffered in their faith and belief and confused on religion. Alhamdulillah, The Egyptian revolution, particularly that day strengthed my Deen by moving me from one belief I knew and led me to the truth and strengthed my Imam in Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala as Allah Subana wa Ta'ala for me inspires and amazes me every minute of the day, even just looking at the clouds I would stop and say Wow, now I stop and say Suban'Allah, Alhumdulillah, Allahu Akbar. Now that I am beginning to learn Arabic I wonder if this is why Allah Subana Wa Ta'ala made one of the Arabic letters Wow, as every time A Non Muslim see something that amazes them, most will say Wow.
