Corruption of the Qur'an

New Member
Asslamu alikum dear brothers and sisters ..

I need some help refuting this :

Muslims often claim that Koran is uncorrupted and preserved to the dot. For Muslims, this is a proof that Koran is of divine origin. Though this is a commendable belief, it is unfounded. Hadiths says that part of the Koran has been lost and admits the many changes. Here we produce some of the quotes from the Hadiths. This by no means is an exhaustive list. By Sakshi Research Team
1. Part of the Eternal Uncorrupted Koran Ate by the Goat

Among the many supposedly received revelations of Mohammed one was to stone those who commit adultery. However, these verses are missing from the Koran, though this practice is still prevalent in many Islamic societies. Hadiths confirms that these verses were once part of the Koran. Read the following text from Hadiths. Aisha, the child wife of Mohammed says that verses of sucking and stonning had been eaten by goat. .

“Narrated by Hazrat Ā’ishah that ayat-e-Rajm and ayat Raza’at were revealed, they were written on something. I kept them under the cart, meanwhile the holy prophet died and we became busy and one GOAT came and ATE those ayyat” (Ibn-e-Maja).

From al-Tabari, p.1523: “The only fault I ever found in ‘Ā’ishah is that, when I was kneading my dough and ordered her to watch it, she fell asleep over it, and the pet sheep (or a goat) came and ate it.”

This is further confirmed Bukhari. Volume 8, Book 82, Number 824:

Narrated Ash-Shaibani: I asked 'Abdullah bin Abi 'Aufa about the Rajam (stoning somebody to death for committing illegal sexual intercourse). He replied, "The Prophet carried out the penalty of Rajam," I asked, "Was that before or after the revelation of Surat-an-Nur?" He replied, "I do not know."

Our Question to Muslims: Where is the Stoning Verse? Goat Ate it!!!

2. Part of the Eternal Uncorrupted Koran Lost in the War After the battle of Badr, many reciters of Koran died. The complete Koran was not yet written. Those who survived, forgot a few. In this context, it is important to read what Hadith says about it. Abu Musa al-Ash'ari, one of the early authorities on the Qur'an text and a companion of Muhammad, is reported to have said to the reciters of Basra: “We used to recite a surah which resembled in length and severity to (Surah) Bara'at. I have, however, forgotten it with the exception of this which I remember out of it: "If there were two valleys full of riches, for the son of Adam, he would long for a third valley and nothing would fill the stomach of the son of Adam but dust".Sahih Muslim, Vol. 2, p.501).

3. Different Eternal Uncorrupted Koran(s!!!) have been Burned by the Righteous Third Caliph Uthman Bukhari: vol. 6, hadith 510, pp. 478-479; book 61 Narrated Anas bin Malik: Hudhaifa bin Al-Yaman came to Uthman at the time when the people of Sham and the people of Iraq were Waging war to conquer Arminya and Adharbijan. Hudhaifa was afraid of their (the people of Sham and Iraq) differences in the recitation of the Qur'an, so he said to 'Uthman, "O chief of the Believers! Save this nation before they differ about the Book (Quran) ..." So 'Uthman sent a message to Hafsa saying, "Send us the manuscripts of the Qur'an so that we may compile the Qur'anic materials in perfect copies and return the manuscripts to you." Hafsa sent it to 'Uthman. 'Uthman then ordered Zaid bin Thabit, 'Abdullah bin AzZubair, Said bin Al-As and 'AbdurRahman bin Harith bin Hisham to rewrite the manuscripts in perfect copies. 'Uthman said to the three Quraishi men, "In case you disagree with Zaid bin Thabit on any point in the Qur'an, then write it in the dialect of Quraish, the Qur'an was revealed in their tongue." They did so, and when they had written many copies, 'Uthman returned the original manuscripts to Hafsa. 'Uthman sent to every Muslim province one copy of what they had copied, and ordered that all the other Qur'anic materials, whether written in fragmentary manuscripts or whole copies, be burnt. ..."

4. Koran Has Been Revealed In Seven Different Ways: Where Are the Other Six?Bukhari: vol. 6, hadith 514, p. 482; book 61

Narrated Umar bin Al-Khattab: I heard Hisham bin Hakim reciting Surat Al-Furqan during the lifetime of Allah's Apostle and I listen to his recitation and noticed that he recited in several different ways which Allah's Apostle had not taught me. I was about to jump over him during his prayer, but I controlled my temper and when he had completed his prayer, I put his upper garment around his neck and seized him by it and said, "Who taught you this Surat which I heard you reciting ?" He replied, "Allah's Apostle taught it to me". I said, "You have told a lie, for Allah's Apostle taught it to me in a different way from yours". So I dragged him to Allah's Apostle and said, "I heard this person reciting Surat Al-Furqan in a way which you haven't taught me!". On that Allah's Apostle said, "Release him (Umar) recite, O Hisham!" Then he recited in the same way I heard him reciting. Then Allah's Apostle said, "It was revealed in this way", and added, "Recite, O Umar", I recited it as he had taught me. Allah's Apostle then said, "It was revealed in this way. This Qur'an has been revealed to be recited in seven different ways, so recite of it whichever is easier for you." As we said at the beginning, this is not an exhaustive list. This is just the tip of the ice berg- just the tip. Many more Hadith can be quoted to show that Koran is corrupted. Remember, the charge of Koranic corruption is not raised by a Christian but by Hadiths, the second most important religious text of Muslims without which Koran is incomplete.

Let no Muslim ever come and say to us that they have uncorrupted eternal Koran. We don't want left overs of goat eaten Koran.

Jazakum Allahu Khair

Assalamou Alikom Warahmatou Allah,

This is exactly why some ignorant hate shaykh Al-Albani ra.
Because he had enough knowledge to refute those hadiths which most of them have been forged!

Allah swt preserve the Holy Qur'an.

Allah swt says: [We have revealed the Reminder and We have taken upon ourselves the duty of preserving it intact] (Al-Hijr 15:9).

Allah swt has promised to preserve the Holy Qur'an intact so do not worry sister leave everything to Allah swt.

~May Allah swt help and guide you~Amin!

Eid Mubarak!

Take Care,

~Wassalam :)

Studying Islam...
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatoh.
I will relate to you some of the knowledge which I have regarding this topic.

We as muslims MUST accept , that the Quran... Dare I say... Has been "changed"
Now before you through the verse..
Allah swt says: [We have revealed the Reminder and We have taken upon ourselves the duty of preserving it intact] (Al-Hijr 15:9)

Please look at THIS verse.

"Nothing of our revelation do we abrogate or cause be forgotten, but we bring one better or the like thereof. Knowest thou not that Allah is Able to do all things

I am going to try to keep this as brief as possible, inshallah bare with me..

Volume 8, Book 82, Number 816:

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas:

'Umar said, "I am afraid that after a long time has passed, people may say, "We do not find the Verses of the Rajam (stoning to death) in the Holy Book," and consequently they may go astray by leaving an obligation that Allah has revealed. Lo! I confirm that the penalty of Rajam be inflicted on him who commits illegal sexual intercourse, if he is already married and the crime is proved by witnesses or pregnancy or confession." Sufyan added, "I have memorized this narration in this way." 'Umar added, "Surely Allah's Apostle carried out the penalty of Rajam, and so did we after him."

And there are other hadiths proving that the apostle did not cause all the revelation to go in the Quran, (pbuh)
There are abrogated verses... By abrogration we can also mean
for example drinking intoxicats. I mentioned a couple times, does that mean Allah didn't know ? No it was just made easier for the believers.
and Also the Quran challange to produce a Surah was like 4 times. Those are abrogations

BUT TAKE HEED that the verse says "We don't abrograte or CAUSE TO BE FORGOTTEN"
So by that we can say that some of the Quran was "purposely forgotten" by prophet Muhammad (pbuh)

Anyways we as muslims should accept this, and remember that NOTHING HAS BEEN ADDED to the Quran even orientilist scholars of islam agree nothing has been added to this "Uthmanic text" and every word in the QUran has been uttered off the lips of the prophet Muhammad, but for example stoning was in the QUran and it was abrogated out, by 100 lashes or what not...
If you would like to learn more about abrogation in the Quran there is a debate on youtube, and I have a good site from one debator
i'll put it up shortly inshallah
Assalamu alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatoh.

MashAllah brother Ayman1. I completely agree with you. I had also come to this conclusion a few years ago.

[See what happens when people give narrations precedence over the Quran? The subject of abrogation is one of the worst manifestations of that.

BTW, verse 2:106 does not say "We do not abrogate", it says "If we ever abrogate".

If you read half as many classical books as I did, you will be absolutely shocked by some of what was said in them.

Muslims must never believe that any part of the Quran was lost, forgotten or abrogated, because God clearly says in it,

"Verily, upon Us is collecting it and [teaching you how to] recite it. When We recite it [to you], follow its recitation. Then upon Us is its elaboration." (75:17-19)

Muslims must also never give narrations, no matter how authentic they are, precedence over the Quran, if those narrations contradict it. This is what Imaam Maalik and all the Sahaaba did in regard to the authentic hadeeth reported by Amra bint Abdir-Rahmaan (RA) who said that `Aa'isha (RA) told her that there was once a verse specifying ten sucklings as a minimum before a child is considered a suckling sibling. Then, she said, it was abrogated by anoher verse that reduced the minimum to five. She said that `Aa'isha told her that both verses were in recitation when the prophet (PBUH) died!

All the Sahaaba rejected that. None of them ever heard those two "verses". Imaam Maalik said that the hadeeth, even though it's authentic, must be rejected (Mardood). No one has ever said that Amra lied, or that she was anything less than trustworthy. In fact, she was so knowledgeable that Umar ibn Abdil-Azeez (RA) used to consult her!

So, how can that be? Who knows why? Maybe she was confused. Maybe she misunderstood what she heard from `Aa'isha. Maybe maybe. The bottom line is that when a narration, even an authentic one, contradicts the Quran, it must not be accepted. The Sahaaba did so and so did Imaam Maalik, rahimahullah.

Does that mean they denied the Sunna? Of course not. They simply put the Quran at a higher pedestal. The Quran was transmitted to us by thousands narrating to thousands who all memorized every letter, diacritic and intonation of it. It was written down entirely during the life of the Prophet (PBUH). It was copied and sent to the capitals of all Muslim countries.

The Hadeeth, on the other hand, was not written down and was not authenticated for nearly 200 years after the death of the Prophet (PBUH). 99% of it is narrated by a few people (Aahaad), only a small fraction, approximately 300, are narrated by many from many, called Mutawaatir (ubiquitous).

Does that mean we should discard the Hadeeth? Of course not. The Hadeeth is extremely important as it tells us details we could never know on our own without it. But we must understand that the Quran takes first stage, and nothing can nor should overrule it. This is what God tells us in the Quran,

"Is it then other than God that I should seek as judge, when He sent down to you the Book, detailed?" (6:114) /QUOTE]

I don't see how anyone can argue with that.

Thank you Brother Ayman1.

Ayman, what about a revealed verse (in al-anfal?) but later it was said not to have that verse anymore? I read it in Bukhârî.

And I tell my brothers and sisters to beware of the kufr sect al-Qur'âniyyôn that speak bad about Abu Hurayrah, Bukhârî and other sahâbas and imams.

Simple question: Why the debate. We know the Quran...why the endless questioning. What purpose does it serve to always compare.

Think for yourself
Refutation of those who try to prove that the Qur’aan is not true

Refutation of those who try to prove that the Qur’aan is not true

Recently I became aware of some scholarly research done by German scholars into the inerrancy of the Quran. Some of their findings are discussed in an Atlantic Monthly article entitled "What Is the Koran?" written by Toby Lester, published in the January 1999 issue of that magazine. The gist of their research is that some very old fragments of the Quran found in a mosque in Yemen show small but significant aberrations from the standard Quranic texts. In some cases, the writing on the fragments found had been washed off and different writing substituted overtop. The article tries to cast doubt on the Muslim view of the Quran as being absolutely reliable, and tries to show instead that it is a literary text that has been subject to change just like any other.
I am not a Muslim, but I know that the Quran holds a position in Islam that is similar to that of Christ in Christianity. In view of this, sir, how would you respond to these attempts to dispute the absolute inerrancy of the Quran? In your view, do these scholars have false motives that render their findings untrustworthy? Or do you have another response to these attacks on the verity of the Quran?.

Praise be to Allaah.
1 – The proof that the copies of the Holy Qur’aan that we have before us is not just one or two pieces of evidence, rather it is proven by a vast amount of evidence that no fair-minded person can study without becoming convinced that it is exactly as Allaah revealed it to Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

2 – There have been generations coming one after another, reciting the Book of Allaah and studying it, memorizing it and writing it down. They have not omitted a single letter, and no one can change even the vowel point of a single letter. Writing is just one means of preserving it; basically it is preserved in their hearts.

3 – The Qur’aan has not come down to us on its own, such that the so-called alterations could be made. Rather the interpretation of its verses, the meanings of its words, the reasons for its revelation, the grammar of its words and the commentary on its rulings have all been transmitted. When such care has been given to this Book, how could sinful hands find a way to distort even one letter of it, or add a word, or take away a verse?

4 – The Qur’aan speaks of matters of the unseen, in the future, which Allaah revealed to His Messenger Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) to show him that they came from Allaah. If a human being wants to write a book, he can describe an event or express a point of view, but if any human being were to speak about matters of the unseen, in this field he can only base that on speculation and lies. But the Qur’aan told of the defeat of the Romans by the Persians, at the time when there was no means of communication to inform the Arabs of this event. The same verses also foretold that they (the Persians) would be defeated after a certain number of years. If what the Qur’aan said was not accurate, then the kaafirs would have had a great opportunity to criticize the Qur’aan.

5 – If you read any verse of the Qur’aan, then you go to America or Asia or the jungles of Africa, or to the deserts of Arabia or any place where there are Muslims, you will find that all of them have the exact same verse, memorized by heart or in their books; not a single letter of it will have been altered.

So what is the importance of this unknown manuscript in Yemen which we have not seen, and in which some ignorant may have altered, in recent times, one verse or one word?

Does this argument carry any weight when properly researched and discussed? Especially when the people claim to be fair-minded and objective in their research.

What would be their response if we went to one of their most trusted books by a well-known author, a book of which there are many copies in the world, all of them exactly the same, and we claimed that there was a copy of this book in some country or other in which there was extra material and alterations, and it was different from what is in their copies? Would they pay any attention?

Their answer would be the same as ours.

6 – The manuscript copies which are in the Muslims’ possession cannot be proven to be authentic in this simplistic manner, for we have experts who know the history of calligraphy and we have principles and guidelines through which we may determine whether a manuscript is genuine, such as the names and signatures of the people who heard it and read it.

We do not think that these features are present in this so-called copy of the Qur’aan in Yemen or in others.

7 – We are happy to conclude our answer with this true story that happened in Baghdad during the ‘Abbasid era, when a Jew wanted to find out how true are the books attributed by their followers to God, namely the Torah among the Jews, the Gospel among the Christians and the Qur’aan among the Muslims.

He went to the Torah and added and took away a few minor things that were not very obvious, then he gave it to a scribe from among the Jews and asked him to make copies of it. It did not take long before these copies were placed in the synagogues of the Jews and were in circulation among their major scholars.

Then he went to the Gospel and added and took away a few things as he had done with the Torah, and he gave it to their scribes and asked them to make copies of it. It was not long before it was being read in their churches and was in circulation among their scholars.

Then he went to the Qur’aan and added and took away a few things as he had done with the Torah and the Gospel. Then he gave it to a Muslim scribe to make copies of it.

When he went back to get his copy, the scribe threw it in his face and told him that this was not the Qur’aan of the Muslims!

From this experiment the man came to know that the Qur’aan is the true Book of Allaah and that all other books were the works of human beings.

If the scribes of the Muslims could tell that this copy had been tampered with, then how could it go into circulation among the Muslim scholars undetected?

If the questioner wants to repeat this ancient experiment nowadays, all she has to do is to do the same as that Jewish man did, who later became Muslim; she can add and take away things from these three books and see what happens as a result.

But we do not tell her to show her copy of the Qur’aan to a scribe, rather we tell her to show it to Muslim children, and they will tell her where the mistakes are in her copy!

Some Muslim states have printed Mus-hafs in which there were mistakes, and young children found them before the grown-ups did!

And Allaah is the Guide to the Straight Path.

Islam Q&A

See also this article, it is interesting:'an

Than I ahve a QUESTION:
If they claim that the Qur'an is distorted, WHAT WOULD THEY SAY ABOUT BIBLE...
Only Muslims have this accuracy, precision, carefulness about writing, memorize the Qur'an firstly than the Sunnah and other works of scolars too. You can discuss about who wrote them, how they are, who they are, what they have done... we alhamdulilah know our pious brothers...

but the other part of the world don't even know the history of the last 50 years, I figured if they know the history of the Bible who wrote it, who transmitted it, how pious they are, their memory... ecc!!!

Anyway, I say
Wa la hawla wa la kuwata il-la bilah.

Assalamu alaykum
After the prophet SAW death yemen was a part of ridda war. False prophet. They had created there own version. So i feel this fragment could be part of that.
