STRANGER...
:salam2:

Jabir (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said,
"Do not invoke curses on yourself or on your children or on your possessions lest you should happen to do it at a moment when the supplications are accepted, and your prayer might be granted."
[Muslim]

Vocabulary of the Hadith

You ask/ you invoke
Questions / Supplications
So they'll be answered / granted

Lesson
One should be very careful of what he/she is saying because many of the times one gets into trouble just because of his/her own words. As it is mentioned in the Hadith here that there are certain times when Allah grants more prayers addressed to Him. One should never curse oneself or one's own children or one's own business, etc., lest this is done at the time when prayers are accepted by Allah and then one has to regret it all his life.

So we must take into account not only our actions but also our words. May Allah have mercy on us. Ameen

Wa Allahu ta’ala A’lam.

Ansari,

Thank you for the Hadith......there is an American colloquialism ..."Be careful what you wish for, ya just might get it!"
