Help: Why does Turkey ban Hijab?

Whats the logical explanation behind Turkeys ban of the Hijab?

I thought it was a muslim country, so why is it banning the hijab?

Please help me understand why they are doing that as a muslim country? we complain about france but what about our own muslim country?

Does anyone here actually live in Turkey? I ask because I have a cousin who served in the American Air Force and is stationed in Turkey. He says that when his wife goes off base she is required to wear hijab. How can the country ban hijab but some people still wear it? Or is it only in certain parts of the country?

by banning hijab, they want to prove that they are secular. and they dont want to be an Islamic state.
