How To Move The Finger In Prayer During ''Tashahudd''

I hav a habit iov movin my finga durin tashahud.
Wen i went haram 4 haj, i waz prayin...i dd ma salah. wen i waz duin ma tashahud, i strtd movin ma finga up n down. The sista sitin nxt 2 me got er hand a pushed ma finga dwn. I waz finkin 2 maslf wah on earth... buh i caried on readin. I kept moving ma finga up an down again. Dis tym da sista grabd ma hand and banngd it on ma lap. Dis tym i was godsmackd. it cant b a mistak da 1st tym she dd it. Den i fout i myt b distracktin er so i dd is slowly. This tym she had her hand placed ontop ov m9. I was SOOOOOOOOOOOO angry. I wz so distracted n ma salah... finkin wah shud i du 2 er afta i fnished da salam. As da salah finished, da sista quikly moved er head n sed HARAM HARAM! I wz finkin shes mad. Buh afta i realised she prob fout u aint alowd. myb she ddnt knw its da sunnah 2 move da fingin durin tashahud. So i advis u if ur da only person in da saaf(row) duin dah, its beta if u dnt mov ur finga due 2 distraction. afta al its sunnah 2 du it, buh not 2 caus harm n trobl 2 urslf n overs.

One Flag, One cause
Ok, I know this but in my musallah some people in tashudd keep their fingers straight up not moving. Their fingers are raised until salam from when we start tashahudd till end of salam. I told them this cant be right, they told be THEY SAW a video of a person doing it. So can you tell me if this is right or wrong.

The video clip is very much beneficial.
In our part of the world, Sri Lanka, we faced a lot of problems with our brothers here when we started moving our pointing finger in Tashahhud and showed them the Ahadith. They unfortunately stoned our da'awa getherings and boycotted us. Alhamdulillaah, there is an awareness not only on this particular action but also on Islaamic teachings.

selemu aleikum brother..all i wanted to say is, please write proper english.many brothers and sisters using this site arent english nor do they live in countries where english i 1st language, so they have enough difficulty already understanding english without the slang and text message way..

:salam2: this is a good thread as i get confused too. i usually am moving the index finger up and down in the direction of qibla but when i say "ashadu" my finger is still raised but not moving? is that wrong? also, during the second part of tashahud before the end of prayer(allahumma sali....) my index finger is down, should it still be raised and moving up and down? sorry if my questions are unclear, i hope someone can help here
