Actions Are Based Upon the Intentions - Shaykh Abdullāh Al-Ghudayyān

Note: For acts of worship to be accepted they must be based on the intention for Allah alone and they must be in accordance with the Quran & Sunnah. The Intention is not verbal, rather it is in the heart.

Shaykh Sālih bin Fawzān al-Fawzān: Writing and Warning Against Deviant Groups and Sects is Obligatory If You Have Knowledge and Ability:

Shaykh Saalih al-Fawzān was asked

I intend to write about some of the astray groups and warn from them however, this group has not exited from the religion and one of the scholars has praised it, and I fear that he may supplicate against me. So what is your advice with the knowledge that this group is deviated?

The Shaykh's answer:

It is obligatory upon you to explain the truth, it is obligatory upon you to explain the truth. If you are sure about the errors that are with them and the misguidance(s) that are with them, sure one-hundred percent and you have the ability, you have knowledge by which you are able to clarify, then this is obligatory upon you, "And when Allāh took the covenant from those who were given the Book that you will explain, clarify it to the people and not conceal it" (Āl-'Imrān:187) [and] "Verily, those who conceal what we have revealed of clear evidences and guidance" (Al-Baqarah: 159), it is not permissible to conceal knowledge. If you have knowledge with you and you are certain about the misguidance(s) of certain factions, then explain them to the people so that they may beware of them, and this is from sincere advice. He ﷺ said, "The religion comprises sincerity of purpose" and we (the Companions) said, "To whom?" and he said, "To Allāh, His Book, His Messenger, the leaders of the Muslims and the common folk" (reported by Muslim, no. 55). Do not fear the people, upon you is to fear Allāh, the Sublime and Exalted, and explain the truth, refute falsehood, and do not fear the people. Yes.

The Difference Between Fusūq [Disobedience], Thulm [Oppression], & Nifāq [Hypocrisy]
Shaykh Sālih bin Fawzān al-Fawzān

Question: May Allāh treat you well. The questioner asks, "What is the difference between fusūq (disobedience) thulm (oppression) and nifāq (hypocrisy)? And are they combined with one another?

Answer: Fusūq is to leave from the obedience of Allāh, and this is of two types; The fusūq of disbelief and the fusūq of disobedience, which is a disobedience other than disobedience (which does not remove a person from Islām). And nifāq (hypocrisy) also (has two types): the major nifāq of belief; which is to display Islām (outwardly) while concealing disbelief (inwardly) and the nifāq of action which is when a person is a believer but he has some qualities of the hypocrites; like lying when speaking and betraying a promise. These are nifāq of action not of belief. (The nifāq of action) requires that one repents from it and it does not take a person from Islām. Disbelief also has two types: major kufr which takes a person from Islām and minor kufr which does not take a person from Islām. For example (As mentioned in the Hadīth) "And do not return back to kuffār, striking the necks of one another" This is minor kufr of action and not of belief. As killing a soul even though it's a major sin it doesn't take one outside the fold of Islām.

Khutbah: The Response Of The Muslim Against The Plots Of The Kuffār - Shaykh Sālih Al-Fawzān

An excellent Khutbah (Sermon) by Shaykh Sālih bin Fawzān Al-Fawzān where he advises the Muslims not to respond to the plotting and planning of the Kuffār with violence, extremism and ignorance. Rather the Muslim must respond with knowledge, wisdom, fair preaching and avoiding being unjust. The Shaykh warns against killing, demonstrations, violence and the harming of innocents and acting in ways that harm the Muslims and the image of Islām.
