Longing Hope

Longing Hope

I looked into my heart in search of love,
For longing has fallen into the depths of my soul.
Captured and immersed - I grasped it tightly,
A prisoner to hope - within me a hole.

Pondering for hours while gazing above,
The clouds floating by like the thoughts in my mind.
Changing and fading as my longing reminds me,
That surely, about our future, we truly are blind.

Dropping a rose on what was my hope,
Fearing to hope again - afraid of heart break,
I turned my back but I faced it again,
But this hope that I faced didn't make me ache.

I hoped for love and it stared at me now,
As I sought to grasp it and lock into my heart.
To throw away the key and not let it escape,
And I hope that now, we won't be apart.

The love of my Lord is what my heart had captured,
When others had rejected to capture mine with with theirs.
To them I'm a memory that will fade away,
Used by them to attend to their affairs.

People may reject what I hoped to become,
But my Lord truly knows what's best for me.
I had given my heart - but they gave me their back,
But on the Day of Judgement we shall come to see.

My Lord I ask You to allow me to fly,
And to increase my Love that I have for You.
For the maidens are calling and I long for their compassion,
And I long for their eyes - so heavy and blue.

So allow me to gaze upon their beauty,
But also allow me to find a friend in them.
For that is what I have come to long for now,
A companion, a partner, an eternal gem.

So I leave my affairs to You, my Lord,
For longing has fallen into the depths of my soul.
Captured and immersed - I grasped it tightly,
A prisoner to hope - within me a hole.
