Question: Non-Muslims in an Islamic Khilafah?

Assalamu 'alaykum,

In an Islamic Khilafah, will non-Muslims be able to buy/sell/drink alcohol or do drugs? Will they be able to conduct same-sex marriages? I understand that they will have their own courts but what laws of the Khilafah apply to non-Muslims and what laws don't apply?

Also, does anyone have book suggestions on this topic? About non-Muslims living in Islamic states and the laws that apply to them?

Good to see you after so long, ukhti. Coming to your topic, well, what was it like for the Jews living in Madinah back then? They were still able to carry on their way of life, and just gave the tax? Was Jizya imposed back then?
