I told a friend that the word "zionists" would show up on the first page of this thread. I'll have to let my friend know I was right.
Thats actually not nice - You may not know it, but with that sort of thinking you are creating a boundary between yourself and the rest of the people here. Our primary aim here is to share and learn about Islam and to remove misconceptions. This is a public forum, not everyone's opinion is going to be correct. Why not try to think or understand why someone would mention Zionists? If you feel it is wrong, then explain why they are wrong, rather than simply taking the conceited position you currently are.
Secondly, you may exchange "Zionist" for Neo-Con or Ultra conservatives. - What the brother was aiming to say was that there are right-leaning political elements who try to find ways of manipulating the general public to support their ideologies. The sad events that happened on 9/11 were and still are used as excuses for political and military wrong doings. AlQaeda and 9/11 were used to shape people's thoughts to accept the invasion of Iraq. It is used by the "Israelis" to convince others that the places under their illegal occupation are full of AlQaeda terrorists.
Let me put it in another way, how should one feel when the thousands of people who died on September 11 2001 are used to build up hatred because a few people wish to wage war or create conditions that help their own political, religious or even financial wishes? I often wonder, why people do not feel any anger for those who promote war and are in position to siphon millions from the lucrative oil, weapons and reconstruction programs that they know will spring up from the deaths of innocents as well as the soldiers led there?
If you believe that there is absolutely no Zionist political lobby, such as AIPAC that holds any weight in US politics, then I am afraid you are either extremely uninformed or simply ignoring these issues.
Many countries around the world used the "alQaeda" bogeyman as an excuse to curtail people's liberties, to detain, torture and even execute their political opponents or anyone who dissented. - An example would be Uzbekistan, which using the pretext of fighting terrorism went ahead to take out as many of their opponents as possible. The British Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Craig Murray, was removed from his position, after he angrily confronted both his own government and that of Uzbekistan after a lady left the documented photos of the remains of her son, who was boiled to death and whose body was left dumped outside her home.
Were it not for the imperialist political meddling in foreign affairs, none of these issues would have occurred in the first place.
