Pakistan: GIs on cross-border raids will be shot
Military warning follows U.S. special forces operation targeting militants

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan - Pakistan's military has ordered its forces to open fire if U.S. troops launch another air or ground raid across the Afghan border, an army spokesman said Tuesday.

The orders, which come in response to a highly unusual Sept. 3 ground attack by U.S. commandos, are certain to heighten tension between Washington and a key ally against terrorism.

Pakistan's civilian leaders have protested the raid but say the dispute should be resolved through diplomatic channels.

However, army spokesman Maj. Gen. Athar Abbas told The Associated Press that after U.S. helicopters ferried troops into a militant stronghold in the South Waziristan tribal region, the military told field commanders to prevent any similar raids.

"The orders are clear," Abbas said in an interview. "In case it happens again in this form, that there is a very significant detection, which is very definite, no ambiguity, across the border, on ground or in the air: open fire."

WOW !!!
Note: Please note that statements like "after U.S. helicopters ferried troops into a militant stronghold" means that these guys come in villages terrorize the population, kill many civilians mostly women in children inside their homes and kidnap a few people while leaving.
I realy hope that this time the Pakistani army will take action against the real terrorists.

Another comforting news.

Pakistan blocked US supplies
WASHINGTON, Sept 15: Pakistan had blocked supplies to US and Nato forces in Afghanistan after the Sept 3 raid by US ground forces at a suspected militant target near Angor Adda, the US media reported on Monday. The report by a veteran Arnaud de Borchgrave, who was also awarded Nishan-i-Imtiaz by the Zia regime for his reporting of the Afghan war, said that this was ‘Pakistan’s retaliatory action’ for the raid that killed 20 people, including women and children.

They have been playing double game for a long time.

the issue is that Army or gov is not gonna back off from Wot any time soon.At least till they are not economically and internally able to confront US.

but what's happening is that a line is drawn for US.they cant cross that line.If Allah wills they will back of from Wot if US pushes them too hard.

But for now what invited the anger of army was the fact that US is deliberately targeting those areas where taliban have peace deals with army.More over a journalist(hamid Mir) wrote today in column that the real reason of tension b/w US and pakistan was that Pakistan gave clues about Alqaeda hideouts in N Waziristan. But US instead of targeting AQ started killing innocent civilians.

Pakistan army went through the conspiracy.that US intention was to turn Tribal people against army and incite a civil war.earlier US had specifically targeted with Missiles to sabotage peace deals.the part of US plan was to keep hitting and hope army doesnt speak up and then tribals would turn against army.Taliban(of gul bahadur) will scrap peace deals.then watch muslims kill each other.Again I say the real enemy is Pakistan as a whole not a particular group.Missile strikes were not aimed at taliban but at innocent people to sabotage peace deals. That angered army.

But there plan is back firing.i wish there be more tensions some more hot action.hot pursuit retaliation. It will help our nation get united. The tribe, army people and taliban as well .Tensions have already produced cohesion.

But early Monday was an eye opener for White House when US troops were made to turn tail as Pakistan forces and tribesmen opened firing on US helicopters, foiling an attempt on their part to enter Pakistani territory in Angoor Adda in South Waziristan.

US soldiers were dropped by helicopter not far from Angoor Adda and were forced to retreat to their base camp in the Paktika province of Afghanistan. Pakistan army fired shells, sounded a bugle call and opened aerial firing to warn US soldiers and alert tribesmen that they are there to defend the integrity, solidarity and sovereignty of Pakistan and as such they are in action.
Also, some reports said announcements were made from loudspeakers of mosques, asking the tribesmen to pick up arms as the US forces had arrived to attack the border villages. With in no time furious waziri tribesmen also started firing.Pathan tribesmen gathered after bugle call and Mosque loudspeaker calls carrying guns .

The US soldiers showing their tails was an interesting aspect of the retaliatory action of the Pakistan army. But more interesting was an exchange of words between the Waziristan-based Pakistani commander and the Paktika-based US commander.

The US commander contacted Pak commander via satellite and conveyed his displeasure over Pakistan's action.

US commander: Why have you taken this action?. Why did you not allow US soldiers to enter Angoor Adda? You have an agreement with us.

Pakistani commander: We are here to defend the motherland against any foreign aggression. We have no such agreement.

US commander: You will have to face the US wrath.

Pakistani commander: O common.

US Commander: We will bomb your area.

Pakistani commander: Go ahead.

PESHAWAR: Every Ahmedzai Wazir tribesman will fight US forces on Afghani soil if their incursions into South Waziristan continue, a 3,000-strong jirga ruled on Wednesday.

The jirga consisting of pro-government tribal elders and pro-Taliban clerics was held in Wana.

“Each and every Ahmedzai Wazir tribesman, be young or old, will take up arms against the US and fight alongside the Pakistan Army,” eyewitnesses told Daily Times, quoting pro-Taliban Noor Muhammad reading a unanimous resolution at the end of the jirga.

The resolution came hours after US Joint Chiefs of Staff Chairman Admiral Michael Mullen met the Pakistani political and military leadership in Islamabad to defuse tension between the two countries following the September 3 US-led ground assault in the Federally Administered Tribal Areas (FATA).

“We will take the war to Afghanistan to confront the Americans,” the resolution said.

Snake with two faces.

ISLAMABAD: Hours after the American military commander had assured Pakistan’s political and military leadership that the United States would respect the country’s sovereignty, missiles were fired from US drones on a house in South Waziristan, killing six people and injuring three others.

The unmanned aircraft which entered the tribal area from Afghanistan fired four missiles on the house in a village near Angoor Adda which is close to an allied forces’ base across the border. The same area had recently experienced an attack by US commandos.

Before the missile strike, media reports were focusing on a meeting between Chairman of the US Joint Chiefs of Staff Admiral Michael Mullen and Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani, Defence Minister Ahmad Mukhtar, Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi and Chief of the Army Staff Gen Ashfaq Parvez Kayani, where the admiral reiterated the US commitment not to violate Pakistan’s sovereignty. Admiral Mullen had arrived in Islamabad on an unannounced visit on Tuesday.Wednesday’s missile attack was 14th by US predators in the tribal agency.

A security official in Peshawar said: “We don’t know who were killed. But there are reports that some of them were low-profile foreigners… nobody of any significance.”

The sources said the drone fired missiles on the house in the Baghar Cheena village, about two kilometres east of Angoor Adda and 30 kilometres west of Wana.

The sources said that the house belonged to supporters of pro-government militant ‘commander’ Maulvi Nazir.
