If charisma is defined as a genuine interest in people, then all messengers must have been charismatic figures. Allah would not choose a messenger, whose personality type was not compatible with the nature of his mission; in this case, interact with people to convey his message. A prophet should not be shy, reserved, or introvert, but outgoing, and enjoy being with people.

When Yunus (Jonah) ran away from his people, he was swallowed by the fish. When he learned his lesson, he went back to his people and what was the result then? Hundred thousand people or even more had changed. (See Surah 37, 139-148). How come? Because now Yunus (PBUH) interacted with a new attitude: more patience, more care, more listening, more helping, in short- more charisma.

Muhammad (PBUH) was the personification of charisma: he listened to the peoples' needs and concerns, helped them achieve their goals, and treated them as though each was special and deserved attention. Charisma does not necessarily mean that you love everyone you meet, or condone his/her ideas, action, believes etc. but that you value the opportunity of socializing, and make the most out of it. Muhammad's charisma, therefore, was felt by even non-Muslims.
