Reply to Shukran

In English when someone says thank you we say you're welcome. In Arabic if someone says shukran is there a proper reply?

Answering Shukran, You can say:

Ahlan wa sahlan

Or
Ala ra'si,

no,actually shukran means thankyou
if someone says than you then we say ......ahlan-wasalahan.......it means you're welcome

yes ur right.we use ahlan wasahlan when ur welcoming someone into ur house and when u say shukran/thank u u say afwan.

many words with same meaning but usage in different contacts.

if someone say ahlan wasahlan u relpy ahlan biki for female
and ahlan bik for male

u r right :) I'm Arabic native speaker , we used to say " 3afwan " عفواً
and some people reply with " ya hla - al -3afo - 7ayak Allah .. etc "

but the most famous one if ( 3afwan )

Great! You used that 3s and 7s. :) I always wanted to ask why Arabs put that. What do those 3s and 7s represent? Shukran in advance for replying. :hijabi:

there is another way to say "shukran" it's JAZAKA (JAZAKI )ALLAHU KHAYRAN and to reward you can say 3AFWAN or WA ANTI/ANTA MIN AHLI LJAZA'A

coz we are Arabs , we have to sitck to the correct pronouciation , so that we use numbers ..

and I add 6 = ط

It doesnt mean ( Thank you ) but it's an Islamic thank :)
