:salam2:
Why must we recite surah YASEEN every day?

Rasulullah(saw) has said:

1."The person who reads surah YASEEN every night,(he) will be pardoned".

2."The person who reads surah YASEEN every night, thus, when he dies,he will die as a shaheed.(martyr)".

3."Whoever reads the heart of the quran (surah YASEEN) Ramadhan will recieve the sawaab of reading 10 QURANS."

4."Whoever reads surah YASEEN in the beginning of the day all his needs for the day will be fulfilled."

5."Whoever reads surah YASEEN for the pleasure of ALLAH only, all his/her sins are forgiven."

6."If someone reads surah YASEEN and surah SAFFAT on Friday and begs ALLAH of his/her needs.his/her needs will be fulfilled."

Salam,

The Qur'an is the Word of Allah; it is the source of guidance, healing and mercy and light for the faithful in this world and hereafter; the reason for this being that it is through the Qur'an that Allah speaks directly to us; so reading the Qur'an in general is extremely beneficial. There are, however, some extra benefits in the sources attributed to reading specific surahs; vast majority of such reports, it must be stated, are questionable; they have been judged as either weak or fabricated by the scholars of Hadith. Imam Ahmad used to say that many of these reports stating about the exaggerated benefits of individual surahs of the Qur'an are considered either dubious or fabricated.

Having said this, however, we must rush to add that the above statement of Imam Ahmad applies only to the exaggerated claims about the benefits of individual surahs as one finds in many of the works of tafsir. In other words, it is not meant to deny the true benefits mentioned in the authentic traditions.

Now coming to the precise benefits of surah Yaseen, let me state the following:
Imam Tirimdhi reports on the authority of Anas that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Everything has a heart, and the heart of Qur'an is Yaseen; whoever reads Yaseen it will be reckoned as though he has recited the whole Qur'an ten times." After having cited the report Imam Tirmidhi judges it as a strange; so we cannot attach much value to it.
There is, however, another report from Abu Ya'la on the authority of Abu Hurayrah that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "Whoever reads yaseen during the night, he will be waking up while his sins have been forgiven." A similar report is found also in Ibn Hibban's sahih citing the authority of Jundub b. Abd Allah; this report has been judged as sound; we find still another report cited by Imam Ahmad on the authority of Ma'qal b. Yasaar that the Messenger of Allah, upon whom be Allah's blessings and peace, "Read Yaseen on persons who are on the verge of death."

Based on the above reports, scholars have concluded the following: reading surah yaseen will ease our difficulties; reading the same at the time of death is especially recommended, for it is considered as a cause of descent of mercy and spiritual graces, thus easing the exit of soul from the body. Allah knows best. According to Imam Ahmad, "Great scholars of the past used to say that reading yaseen in the presence of a dying person will bring ease for him/her." Finally, al-Bazzar reports on the authority of Ibn Abbas that the Prophet, peace be upon him, said, "I wish Surah Yaseen were inscribed in the heart of every member of my community."

In conclusion: There is no doubt that reading Surah Yaseen is a highly meritorious act entailing enormous spiritual benefits- May Allah give us the honor of finding true healing and mercy through the noble Qur'an-aameen.
