Mu'awiyah ibn Qarrah related that upon meeting a group of people from Yemen, Umar ibn Al-Khattab (radiyAllahu anh) asked,

"Who are you?"

They replied,

"We are the ones who place their trust in Allah."

Umar immediately understood that they were a people who did not work for a living, but instead relied on the handouts of others. It wasn't that they could not work; rather, they chose not to work. And so Umar said,

"No, instead you are the ones who rely (on others for help). The people who truly place their trust in Allah do two things: They cast a seed into the ground (i.e., they work for a living), and they place their trust in Allah, the Possessor of Might and Majesty."

(Ashaab Ar-Rasool; the chain of this narration is authentic).
