What is the Islamic ruling on a Lotus Birth?

This is a birth where the newborn is left attached to the placenta until it dries up and detaches naturally.

I had never heard of this before, but those who are in favor of it say it's of great benefit to the baby, so I am just curious. I must admit that my first reaction was shock and raised eyebrows!

Never heard of it but from what you say it doesnt sound like anything bad, just the baby attached to the placenta for a bit longer
