As-salaamu'alaykum,
Umar (radiyAllahu anh) once asked a man who was determined to divorce his wife,
"Why are you divorcing her?"
The man replied,
"I do not love her."
Umar wisely asked,
"And is every house (i.e., marriage) built upon love? What happened to responsibility, to the idea of taking care of someone else and of safeguarding someone else's honour?"
