(This might have been posted once before since from what I hear, its a fairly common story throughout areas of the Middle East, but I couldn't find anything in the search option.)

There are two versions to this story, but both carry the same message:

Version One
In Mecca, there was a very young guard. On his breaks, he would sit by himself and recite the Qur'an while the other guards sat and talked and listened to music. One day, there was a freak accident, and a car hit him while was on his break. It hit him in such a way that he was decapitated, but even after death, for a few seconds, he was reciting the Qur'an because his brain was so used to it and he was so devoted.

Version Two
When the young guard took his breaks, he would sit and listen to all his favorite music. He was always singing his favorite song, and goofing around or listening to music instead of reading the Qur'an or praying when he was supposed to. One day there was a bad accident, and he was rushed to the hospital. While in the ambulance, the paramedics told him he was about to die, and that he should say the shahada. They kept urging him to say it, but when he opened his mouth, all that came out were the lines to his favorite song. He died shortly after.

Moral of the story: What is most important to you in life will be the last thing you think of or say when you die. So make allah (swt) the most important, so that you'll die with his name on your lips, and so that he'll be the last thing you think of. If you devote your life to him, it will be a life well lived.
