Arabic Courses at Ebrahim College (East London)
Access to Arabic
This course is for complete beginners who cannot read Arabic. The course will take students through the letters of the Arabic alphabet in their solitary and joint forms, vowels, words and sentences. This course will incorporate some basic Arabic language skills by building up basic vocabulary and developing some writing skills.
Brothers start:
Class A: Saturday 15th Jan (10am - 1pm)
Class B: Monday 17th Jan (6pm - 9pm)
Sisters start:
Class A: Saturday 15th Jan (10am - 1pm)
Class B: Wednesday 19th Jan (6pm - 9pm)
Duration: Once a week for 10 weeks
Fees: £90 Early bird discount: £65 if paid by Sat 1st January
Arabic Level 1
Level 1 Arabic is the first of the courses and it incorporates an excellent introduction to the basics of the Arabic Language. If you are considering this, you should certainly consider registering for all 3 modules so that you complete at least one full year's curriculum; what we call ISP1 Arabic.

Duration: Once a week for 12 weeks

Arabic Level 2
Level 2 Arabic is the second course in the programme. It continues on from level 1 and introduces more grammar topics and more complex and varied vocabulary. Chapters from books such as al-Kitab al-Asasi and tailor made worksheets to help students apply their knowledge of the grammar concepts and develop a broad vocabulary will be covered.

Duration: Once a week for 12 weeks

Arabic Level 3
Level 3 Arabic is the third course in the programme. It continues on from level 2 and students complete the key grammar topics necessary to access Arabic texts. Students will also begin studying some Arabic texts, as well as develop confidence in I'rab translation and composition.

Duration: Once a week for 12 weeks

Arabic Level 4
Level 4 Arabic is the first course at ISP2. This course will mostly be taught directly in Arabic. At level 4 students will build on the standard of language achieved at levels 1-3 and progress on to studying more complex texts directly in Arabic and developing proficiency in the practical application of the language. This will be progressed further at levels 5 and 6 enabling students to be able to read fluently with a good understanding of a broad range of texts and be able to converse confidently using vocabulary of a broad range of conversational themes.
