Sorry akhi, i am not judging but most rap i have heard contains music and therefore i do not deem it as "Islamic" ... better listening to Qur'aan anytime and anywho...

Firstly, i dont think these raps should be promoted in any shape or form not in lyrics nor in videos. We have younger members of the forum and its not right to allow them to think its okay if they think other muslims are doing it, it creates doubt in the hearts for something that is clearly haraam.
Secondly..er what are they singing about...? 'BRING ISLAM BACK' yeh sure, whatever fat hope, if they loved Islaam so much they wouldnt dirty its clear waters by coupling haraam music with Islaamic orientated lyrics.
In my eyes, Music is a tool, a drug, and i classify it Class A! Like alcohol, music is used to satiate and control peoples emotions, why do you think it plays such a huge role in western societies - its everywhere you go, you cant so much go out to buy the morning paper without being bombarded with music, its a hypnotic sleep spell, it captivates the mind and soul and makes you all the more submissive to Shaytan, music creates its own 'atmosphere' is own 'aura' which i deem to be wholly satanic. I also want you to consider why exactly, so many so called 'Islaamic' rap groups/hip hop groups exist, 'Outlandish' 'Soldiers of Allah' (er..LOL) 'Sons of Hagar' and 'Blackstone' funnily enough, they all address some political themes in their lyrics, i cant help but feel that this is an attempt to target Muslim youth and convert any legitimate anger/indignation into foggy lyrics which just makes the adrenalin pump, and yet achieves nothing for the Ummah in reality...!

You don't need the words of this musician for encouragement, only the words of God from the Qu'ran and the Sunnah of Muhammad (PBUH).
I'm sorry if you feel this is some sort of personal attack against you, Brother, because it's not... this is a real problem that our Ummah faces, especially our young people who don't yet fully understand this Deen and who are vulnerable to think that different aspects of the Kuffar's lifestyle are "cool".

The people involved in discussion so vehemently argued to delete the topic if it included something involving music...
This seems quite harsh, wile realising the issue that music is totally a controversial issue... Please also pay attention to verse 59, of SUrah Yunus, i which Allah asks men not to evolve things from themselves as halaal and haraam... (realising the fact that there is no verse in the Quran which specificallu bans music)...
I have immensely talked regarding this subject with other people and i do not want to debate on it any further, seeing that it remains a controversy...

I agree with you akhi. Just like the tongue, eyes, ears, etc it can be used in halal or haram ways when not used properly. Although I don't listen to music often, I have seen both sides of the issue - so we are not in the position to judge someone in regards to this subject.
