salam
sis and bro i feel bit shy discussing that issue so openly but i have got to remove the doubts.me and my friend had a debat over mesturbation.she says that mesturbation is not a sin and is allowed under certain circumtances but i have quite a different opinion ,and i have done a research that it is equal to adultery.
tody, i read in a newspaper that it is not harmful and allowed.
its quite an important issue since its the time of fitnah ,our youth is going astray by the media and is indulged in such bad activities.


may Allah strenghthen our imaan and give my country pakistan eternal peace and unite the muslim ummah (ameen)

Sister I strongly suggest you research Islamic scholars. There are rulings. I have encountered several topics on www.islamonline.net.

As for Pakistan..we are under the care of our Creator and His Purpose. We just need to make sure we do our part.

thank u very much sister for ur conscern .so it means that masturbation is not allowed in islam and is prohibited.mashallah,our religion is the deen e fitrah ,i wondered ,how could it be possible to have this practise in islam allowed under normal circumtances.
shukran again sister ,it made me won the battle against my friend.my friend accepts his mistakes very late but she will ,for we cannot change our religion.

I guess it is haram ... but does not mount to the sin of adultery.

and I dont agree it is a way to prevent fitna, if anything ... it increases it

it isn't equal to zina nor adultery, how could it be? It is something else and in the legal sense not punishable in the same way but one will be punished in the herafter of course, if you haven't repented. And it is our duty to conceal our sins.
Masturbation is a sin yes, we have had this topic before in the women's section, sensitive issues,

As some peoples say that "Masturbation is haram and some says its not".I was listening to the speech of Dr. Zakir Nayak and some body ask the same question.He replied that it is haram, but if somebody is masturbating to avoid from big sin then it's not( I mean zina). He mentioned some surah's and hadith as well, i wish i remember them and wrote it down. But sister you can just hold on and i will send you some.

yes some scholars think it is permissable only if you fear you will commit fornication just like eating swine when there is nothing else to eat, because you fear death because of that.

But i want to highlight the word "fear" and shed some light on it through numerating some pretexts may some people invent under this word
  • Some ppl put themselves in places where they may be seduced or advanced and then do such an act (masturbation) claiming that they are permitted to do so!!!! Why do they go to such places from the very beginning?!!!
  • Some ppl watch unlawful scenes onrop and then claim that they have to masturbate in order to protect themselves from Zina!!!! why do they watch such things from the very beginning?!!
  • Some ppl think much about sexual relation when their desire is aroused, they do this act telling themselves that they fear Zina!!!! why do they think about these matters from the very beginning?!! etc.
All these attitudes and the like are fallacies. Rather, if it happens that someone is in a situation where he is on the verge of committing Zina, I think he is allowed to do so.

Muslims should occupy themselves with remembering Allah, reciting Quran, reading Hadith and Seerah of the Prophet, pbuh, etc. they should be away from the places or scenes of temptations. They should frequently strive hard against their against their selves which may order them to do bad deeds, devils which whisper to them and against the temptations of the worldly life. To do so, we should continuously supplicate Allah and invoke Him to guide us and seek refuge with Him against devils; we should have good friends who help us do good deeds and advise us if they notice any change in our behavior. with regard to unmarried young men and women they should hasten to marry as the Prophet, pbuh, ordered us if they can not then they should fast. the Prophet, pbuh, said, "O young men, whoever among you has the ability to marry should marry because it helps the person lower his gaze and guards his chastity. and those who can not marry should fast because it is a protection (against obscenities)"
