Well said, actions are but by intentions. Are you sure everyone here is writing for the sake of Allaah? The thing we should question most seriously is our intention, as the righteous salaf did. As for these type of threads, people might start feeling too special, others might get upset and feel unloved. To a certain degree threads like this can lead to praising people whilst knowing that they will see the message. The salaf use to throw dust at the one who praises someone to his face. Also, as Muslims we should put people in their places, not blowing people up to greater than what they are (calling western students who have a masters degree in `aqeedah shuyookh), or belittling them (defaming the scholars). I'm not saying that this has been done, or will be, but I fear for its negative effect upon the hearts of us...
