Remaining faithful to Allah

A qualified medical worker from India emigrated to Canada to live a better life. This Muslim brother had a beard. He applied to many different places for a job and was called for interviews. Though he was highly qualified for the jobs, the interviewers hesitated to hire him because of his beard. One by one, he was rejected from all the companies. One interviewer actually mentioned to him indirectly that his beard was an obstacle to getting the job. Trully, it was a big test for him from Allah.
Hopeless and exhausted, the brother decided to remove the obstacle, which was to shave off his beard. Then he returned to that company and requested for another interview. When the interviewer saw him without a beard this time, he refused to give him the job again. The brother became confused and asked to know the reason. The interviewer said "If you are not faithful to your God, how will you be faithful to us?"

How can a beard determine the faith of someone? Some one is faithful if he has a beard and is not when he shaved it off? Hmmmmm....

look if he doesn't obey Allah and leaves his commandments to have a nice wonderful life..or for his life reasons(eg get a job) and ignore after life ....he is obviosly showing that he would prefer getting a job than obeying Allah..
thats what they meant

do u understand now bro:D

if one believes that having one hair on his nose is ibaada (from one's religion)... ... than he should not change it for someone else "pleasure" besides his creator........... i think this what we should learn from our above story and what the brother tried to emphasize....... nice example

Sub Han Allah
salam Alikom,
I read the following in many Islamic books concerning the "beard" issue & I believe that it is not fard acc. to most Islamic scholars but a Sona Moakada/ an asured Sona that a muslim man must try & do.
Moreover, if a man for no good excuss shaves it off he takes sayaat.
Therefore, scholars in these cases would accept such a behaviour though they may not advice it.
And of course, it is better for us all to take a stand & fight for what we believe in.
However, as muslims we are not allowed to be judgemental since Allah only knows.
Wa Allah A'alam

Appreciate ur opinions but at the end of the day it is about you religion appearance if you think it is not fard why not take it as a sunna muakadah which Allah reward you for and be proud of your religion.

selemu aleikum

to emphasise what i said yesterday IT IS OBLIGATORY ON ALL MUSLIM MEN TO GROW A BEARD, unless it doesnt grow!

now by growing a beard, it doesnt neccessarily have to be a beard big enuff to clean ur shoes with lol

inshallah i will make dua for us moslim brothers to stop cutting it off..

cuz im cutting it off every week almost..saying to myself..it doesnt look good on me or this or that..but when i come to think off it...im pretty **** sure hell wouldnt look good on me or on any muslim brother neither!

its egoistic how much we focus on women wearing the hijaab..and almost judge them when they dont wear it..while meanwhile we men dont even let our beard grow.

we should set an example when it comes to sacrifice certain things on our way to please ALLAH subhana wata3ala, so that we may show other brothers and sisters how real love and obedience for ant towards allah subhana watala3a looks like!!
