1. The King wanted Sarah for his own evil intentions and Hadrat Ibrahim a.s. knew that Allah would protect her. Therefore, when the King asked who he was, instead of responding that he was her husband, he responded that she was his sister in Islam, which she technically was.
2. In order to avoid going to the festival that his people usually attended, Hadrat Ibrahim a.s. told his father he was sick in order to avoid going and indulging in their polygamous practices.
3. After breaking all the idols, Hadrat Ibrahim a.s. placed the axe in the hands of the largest idol. When the people returned and saw that their idols were smashed they accused Hadrat Ibrahim a.s. of being the perpetrator. He in turn said that the idol broke the rest of the statues in order to prove the point that these statues were man-made and not capable of human actions.
