Hello Searching7,

The most important thing in Islam is Tawheed (The oneness of Allah), So in my hunble opinion you should read book/article on Tawheed on the first priority because not knowing Tawheed peoperly may lead us to fall in to THE ONLY SIN which will not be forgiven i.e. Shirk.

Here are books/link on Tawheed:
1. Fundamentals of Tawheed By Abu Ameenah Bilal Phillips.
ISBN#: 9830651584

Links:

An Introduction To Tawheed And Its Divisions

The Excellence of Tawhid

as you may see, there are a lot of books... please let us know if you have any question... you don't need to know everything about islam to become a muslim as there is a lot to learn (I myself don't know much, but i know the basics and believe in them)... basically, if you believe that there is only one God and prophet Mohammed (SAW) is last messenger, then you basically, you are a muslim... thats one of the 5 pillars (other 4 are: Salat (prayer), Zakat, Hajj (when you can), and fasting Ramadan)... one never knows when he'll die... anyway, thank you for asking :SMILY139:

As-salaamu `alaykum. The sister is correct.

They support (and host the talks) of well-established takfeeris, one so infamous that he even made takfeer of himself?! This is not a mere accusation. Likewise though the bulk of their books are good, that doesn't meant that all of them are. All you have to do is listen to some of their speakers and what they say as proof (of the claim).

Baarak Allaahu feek Akhi, that is not what I meant (i.e books about other sects). There is nothing wrong with having material about other sects. Notice how one such book on their site is by Shaykh Abu Hamza??? He is just one of the kharijees whose literature they support, who they exalt to as a Shaykh (the man is not even associated with knowledge and learning with scholars)?!
