Is it ok to ask Allah?

As Salaamu Alaikum Brother, trick question, from what i have read ALLAH will not put a burden on u that u cannot bear, so i would lean 2 it being haram 2 injure or 2 take the life of someone especially ur own. 1 thing i have found n my limited time on this earth is that when u think u got it bad talk 2 someone else and u usually find that they r going thru something worse or know 1 that is. we should always try 2 look @ people that have less than we have 2 appreciate what we have rather than 2 those who have more and bcome envious. may ALLAH make it easy 4 u.

No it is not permissible!! From the sunnah is that a person should not ask for death. Why? Because, living, if a person is a sinner or kaafir they have time to repent and a believer has more time to do more good deeds. When a person dies, all his deeds stop and except in 3 cases. IF he leaves a beneficial islamic knowledge that others benefit, the he makes something from dunya that others beneift (ex. car, road, water wells, masjid, etc.) or a child who will make duaah to Allah for him/her. What you can ask is "Allah let me live long as long as you will be pleased with me and my life is better for me, and take my life only when you are happy and it is good for me.
However, i think only people who do not really believe in ALlah subhanahu wet'ala and have no hopes nor patience in His tests fall victims to this attitude. A muslims who knows His lord, will never ask Allah for death. How many of us are prepared to meed ALlah the lord of the worlds, the angels of death, seeing jahannam with own eyes?
That is the statement of shaytaan. He wants you to loose all hopes in Allah.
Pray to Allah azzawajal. The sahaba used to be affraid what their end will be when they die. Even resulullah
who was forgiven all his previous and future sins was affraid of Allah and what will be with him that is why he worshipped Allah until his feet would swell.Eliminate those crazy thought of your brain.
Allah subhanahu wat'ala says in the quraan about shaytaan when bringing you evil thoughts to say in suraah mu'minoon (ev kema qale)
وَقُل رَّبِّ أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنۡ هَمَزَٲتِ ٱلشَّيَـٰطِينِ (٩٧))
97. And say "O my Lord! I seek refuge with Thee from the suggestions of the Evil Ones.
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ رَبِّ أَن يَحۡضُرُونِ (٩
98. "And I seek refuge with Thee O my Lord! lest they should come near me."

“and We shall make a trial of you with evil and with good. And to Us you will be returned”[al-Anbiya’ 21:35]
If we be patience and ridha (please) with what Allah had 'written' for us, He will reward us.
And please read this verse:
“… And do not kill yourselves (nor kill one another). Surely, Allaah is Most Merciful to you.
And whoever commits that through aggression and injustice, We shall cast him into the Fire, and that is easy for Allaah”
[al-Nisa’ 4:29]
So, brother if you live longer and you do good deeds, isn't it better than live short with bad deeds?
May Allah guide your way and lift up your burden, He is full with Mercy, all the calamities that happened to his slaves is in His Wisdom.

I think everyone has to surpass that weird times in their life where you feel like its just too much .. I can't handle it anymore..
Brother just take it as a test by Allah(swt) and try to pass it and you'll be rewarded for sure..
If you feel you've been deprived of something.. See people who are blind deaf dumb and yet they are happy and abiding by the religion and making ALLAH(SWT) happy.
If you think you lost your love or something.
Look at the stories of the husband or wife who is called upon by ALLAH(SWT) on the first night itself.

and more reasons than that to thanks ALLAH(SWT) for everything that he has given us..

There are absolutely no reason whatsoever to ask for death
Basically, why should we be so ungrateful to Allah?
People have gone through worst ( Rasulullah and sahabah and so on...) but do they turn their back to Allah Almighty? No, absolutely not.
Allah's mercy covers everyone and everything, muslim or non-muslim and He provides for everyone and everything, muslim and non-muslim. He provides to the non-muslim throughout their life eventhough they don't worship Him even one second!!!
And you're telling us you're missing on something?
Dear bro, resort to salat and be patience in doing so. Allah have perfect knowledge of what is in the past, now and the future, we don't.
Worship Him sincerely and He will help you out of your problems.

You know I've never seen anyone pray to Allah to die, so that he won't take part in FITNAH. But there is a pray by Rasulullah "... and if You (Allah) want to take my soul, than take it at the time when I'm not taking any part in fitnah".
There is a Hadits showing that the only permissible way of asking of death to Allah, is when FITNAH happen, while you do not want to take part of that and afraid that it may influence you and thrown you to the Hellfire after death.
You must repent first before you pray like that.
