what to do when bored

Salaam alaikum

any tips...I am so bored and very broke ( meaning no money to spend) and i need an idea of what to do. I tried reading the news, or reading my textbooks but I still feel so bored despite how much I try to force myself not think I am bored. anyway advice. and I hate to watch tv, youtube, movies...I feel as though I am getting dumber.

brother/sister wat i do when im bored is watch Ahmed Deedat videos or Zakir Naik videos online it helps ... or yea if ur into movies pm me i can recomment u some sites if u want some sugguestions

I perfectly understand you sister ,Im in same situation ...
Plus its so much snow here ,that I cannot even get outside and anyway there is nothing to do ...If there is no family around and you always alone ,then there is no much things to do ,everything become boring quick...
Do u have any hobbies .Do you like cooking?or sewing ? Thats what i do when I get bored from reading or staying on the computer ...You can listen to some lectures too ...

additional prayer will lighten thoughts and brighten your afterlife. Reading is also very important for problem solving.

I, alhamdillah, try to keep busy in what interests me, rarely watch anything on tv except for 10 min news/weather thing.

I dislike Christmas eve and christmas day very much. There is nothing to do here (since all the places are closed), and thus I'm stuck at home all day.
I've tried reading and surfing the net, but even that gets boring after a while.
I think I'm going to download some lectures put them in ipod and fall asleep as I listen to them.

thanks for the advice

I decided to watch a little bit of the basketball...and read my textbooks, and read the Quran...which felt really good. I never feel like I am wasting time when I practice recitation or read the quran.

I am learning to sew but my supplies are low...and I have no Moneyyyyyyyy.

[/B]I know you said you feel dumber watching tv and etc, but how about watching Islamic videos of shaykhs that you enjoy listening to. Make wudu, pray two ra'kas inshaAllah and ask Allah to not make you lazy. then try and do something such as reading ISLAMIC BOOKS, DUAS, HADITHS, AND WATCHING DVD OR VIDEOS OF YOUR FAVORITE 'ULAMA LECTURES. Try to find a topic you enjoy most that these shaykhs talk about. i know i never get tired of listening to shaykh feiz muhammad, and shaykh khalid yasin and shaykh anwar awlaki. or call relatives to say salam to them, this too is ajar(reward) from Allah swt. oh and on a side note sister, do not waste your money even if you get some...try to donate it as much as possible. you would've spent it out of boredom but there are those in need. Why not read/listen to Qur'an? I think that is good. If you get tired by doing that (I daubt that you will) but you can always come to TTI and read threads that are good for your Iman. Just thought to give some examples that won't bore you. Salams

Those who are getting bored should try to find company of some pious and good friends. They should Try to change their routine, once/twice in a week. InshALLAH, that will also help in increasing the level of emaan.

Human beings need change. You cant listen and absorb islamic lectures continously for hours. Its about getting the balance between deen and duniya here.

When i feel like that, I shut off computer, put the books away and go out with my friends for 2-3 hours. and have a laugh. This really helps a lot.

Perhaps we need a TTI user group .. lol

A very wise response.

A balance is indeed a good thing. Sometimes I just go for a walk toward a particular destination instead of driving, so I can contemplate on things.
No doubt, talking with good friends is enjoyable and also very good for one's personality.

dear sister, i was sometimes in ur situation .But finally i find a solution, which is reading too much about any thing benefitable. Try as much as possible to devide ur time during the day .one time to read the holy Quran .and other time to read novels from other languages .I will give u one example: try to look for new novels that u have never read before ,or choose novelswhich are very different ; becs u r from palestine so u mother tang is arabic. And sure u r good at english .what about reading novels in italian lang or spanish lang or ......? while reading sure u need a dicitonary near u to explain words one by one .and that make u feel that u are not bored , and at the same time u will benefit from ur time.

please keep always saying tomorrow will be better.and take thing easy.
