Spending time

I had a small question ... is it better for a man or women to spend time with his/her family/loved one or to volunteer/work/clubs (like school clubs) at different places and spend less time with family?

like what would be a good islamic way of doing stuff

well, maybe it would be a good idea to include family members into projects like this. we should treasure the time that we have with our family because we really only have family. as muslims we are all called to do good deeds, so there's a very good chance that there isn't anything wrong with taking part of these extra activities as long as they don't distract us from our duties to islam.

i'm not sure if there is a hadith about this anywhere, but doing good for one's community is an inherent islamic principle.
