QURAN

""16 Nay (behold), ye prefer the life of this world;
17 But the Hereafter is better and more enduring. "

( Al A'la)

LESSONS FROM THIS VERSE

Most people prefer the life of this world to the Hereafter, they prefer:

- fashionable clothes instead of hijab
- riba ( usury) instead of an Islamic economic system
- tittle tattle ( backbiting, gossiping , unavailing talk ) instead of remembrance of Allah
( dhikr)
- watching TV instead of watching the creation of Allah swt and the signs of His creation and contemplating
- having illegal relations instead of marriage
- listening to music instead of listening to the Holy Quran and the Prophet's (PBUH) ahadith or a beneficial lecture
-arguing indecently for the sake of winning an argument instead of having a decent discussion for the sake of Allah swt.
- choosing friends who are indulged in this dunya ( the life of this world ) instead of brothers and sisters for the sake of Allah

BUT......THE HEREAFTER IS BETTER AND MORE ENDURING ( a state of eternal bliss)

Thanks a lot for the beautiful things you said .
I think all we need is the jihad of self- defense. The best and the most difficult thing is jihad against our desires, needs and apetites especially in the time that every thing is availlable and we see people who are going ahead with their desires without limitations and nothing stops them .Self -control in those days is like holding a burning coal as Prophet Mohammad said ( القابض على دينه كالقابض على الجمر )

But ther is a hadith that I heard recently that I was very happy to hear about it that Prophet Mohammad said to his followers ( sahaba )
إن من ورائكم أيام الصبر ، للمتمسك فيهن يومئذ بما أنتم عليه أجر خمسين منكم . قالوا :
يا نبي الله أو منهم ؟ قال : بل منكم .

That there comes the days of Patience, the one who holds or control himself gets the reward of 50 men of your time .Sahaba said of there time , prophet said no of your time .

I PRAY TO ALLAH FROM THE BOTTOM OF MY HEART TO HELP US TO MAKE ALL LIFE IN OUR EYES AS THE SMALLEST THING IN OUR LIFE . SO THAT WE CAN WORSHIP HIM THE WAY HE DESERVES.
