What does this Quranic verse mean ?

Evil? What does Allah (SWT) mean by testing us with evil?

Evil? What does Allah (SWT) mean by testing us with evil?

Everyone will Die no matter what. You will be tested with bad things ie sex, drugs, alcohol, etc. and by good-nice job, good money.

It will be seen what you do with it, succumb to the bad things or keep your faith. And use the riches Allah gives you for bad and not share becoming selfish. Things that are good and things that are evil are a test.

Many people are given ISLAM, (which is good) but they use it for bad. Many people are given drunkeness (which is bad) but they turn it around for good becoming counselors.

Arab and Muslim leaders were also tested and many of them failed the test.

Well I know A lot of the Arab and Muslim leaders donated a lot of money to the Gazans. I read that Saudi Arabia donated a Billion dollars to the people mashallah.

Our brothers and sisters in Gaza were recently and still are tested with evil, the evil of Israeli policies and soldiers.

Please don't use the word "soldiers". Soldiers in the purest form are those that stand for injustice & Truth. We shouldn't defame the truthful soldiers of this world. Those Israelie IDF's are not 'soldiers' they are cowards and terrorists. We have to get this notion out of our heads.

Would you translate the Arabic word "Junood" as soldiers? I don't know of any other translation. If you agree that Junood means soldiers, then I'd like to draw your attention to God's statement about Pharaoh, "Verily, Pharaoh, Haamaan and their soldiers were sinners." (28:8)

There are good soldiers and there are awful ones, like so many things in life.

To be honest, my Arabic is just as bad as an out of state tourist, I could tell you less if the word "junood" can be translated to another word in English.

IMHO, I believe we are living in times where such small words can have significant meanings and outlooks. Like one brother here said, "We're in a war of words." The media, for instance feeds our minds when associating Muslims with words such as "militants" "rebels" "terorrists." If they are trying to divide us then we should try to divide them. When was the last time they called us "soldiers"?
