I think I'm a Hypocrite...

:salam2:

Omg, I feel so bad! :( I read the signs of a hypocrite and...I think I am one!!!!!!! Asthaghfirullah, I'm soo scared now!! :( :( :(

You know, I don't want to expose my sins but I think this is something anyone might fall into. But I don't think anyone falls into it ALL the time! Sometimes when I'm trusted on something, I happen to break that trust. I don't do it on purpose...it just happens. And sometimes when my mom asks me something regarding another person, I usually lie because I don't want to backbite him/her. And I could go on and on. I think I have all the signs of a hypocrite!!!!!! Though I don't do it on purpose. :(:(:( Uhhh...I'm soo scared. I THINK I'M A HYPOCRITE!!!!!!!!!

No, sister, don't feel scared, as long as you pray 5 times a day, read Quran with the translation and fast in Ramadan, YOU ARE NOT A HYPOCRITE.

DON'T worry, indeed thats all Shaytaan. He wants you to feel that you are a bad person, and a Hypocrite. but NO. do the Dikr of Allah (swt) and praise him, Inshallah he will not tease you annymore on annything.

What I want you to do is, not to tell these things to annybody, not me, nor your parents, NEVER espose it to others, verily if you say annything here online, or if you say annything to annybody, Shaytaan hears it, and makes you more weak on it. Shaytaan can always hear what you are saying, but he can never hear or know what is in your heart, if you keep it in your heart, he will not get anny chance to weak you on annything. If you keep it expose to others, he will make you weaker on that.

Do everything secretly, meaning donot say: "I am gonna memorize surah yasin of the Quran", to anybody, because then Shaytaan knows it, and he will try to make you lazy and weaker on that, and you will end up in his trap and not able to memorize that surah. But sister, say it in your heart: "I am gonna memorize surah yasin, inshallah." Because what happens is, you also get the help of Allaah and Shaytaan doesn't know a word you are saying, and he doesn't forgets like us, he knows when you said annything and he will trap you down. Keep it between you and Allaah in your heart, and never expose it even if you are alone.

JazakAllah khair for that. Its really helpful.

ma'shAllah, there is already so much wisdom here, but you should always remember these two simple things...inshAllah!

1. If you commit a bad deed, follow it up with a good deed - for it will expunge it (cancel it out)

2. The Prophet(saw) used to ask forgiveness of our Rabb at least 100 times every day! So always seek repentance and the very least you should say 'astarghfirullah' whenever you have done wrong and are sincere in your regret.

:salam2: dear sister,

InshaAllah you're not a hypocrite. That's how all of us feel , or rather fear. This is a natural feeling, since hypocrites are promised the worst and severest of all punishments. Even Omar ibnul-Khattab (RAA) used to worry about this and always feared that his name was on the list of hypocrites that the Prophet ( PBUH) had.All you have to do is keep their traits in mind & try to avoid them as much as possible and this is what jihad of the self means. According to the well known hadith these traits are mainly summed up in lying, not keeping promises and breaking trust. So try to be always alert so you wouldn't commit any of these , either on purpose or not. Try to make your inside and outside the same, no pretences or double faces. I know it's not always easy, but life is nothing but a series of trials that one faces every single minute. Try hard, make du'aa and ask Allah to grant you sincerity and may Allah make things easy for all of us.

Well sister I think more than half of your work is already done for you..you identified what makes one a hypocrite..you identified how much of it you might commit..and you identified how you might commit it and under what circumstances..all you need to do is plaster an *avoidance* over everything..which through determined actions..can become an *elimination* inshallah..

If the characteristics of hypocrisy are coming from within your mind or heart..undo them through contradictive *deeds*..if they are *spoken*..then line your lips with *silence*..do your utmost best to just *not comment* and if a reply is a *must* say *I don't know* or *Allahu a'alam*

May Allah keep us all away from hypocrisy and those who commit it..Ameen
