Why does Allah (SWT) seal Hearts like it is mentioned in Surah Al-Baqarah ?

Allah SWT said in the Quran

002.007 "God hath set a seal on their hearts and on their hearing, and on their eyes is a veil; great is the penalty they (incur)."

Why does Allah SWT seal their hearts and and then punish them ?

And in another Verse in the Quran Allah SWT said
-002.010 "In their hearts is a disease; and Allah has increased their disease: And grievous is the penalty they (incur), because they are false (to themselves)."

Why would Allah SWT increase their disease in their Hearts ?

A rough answer

I am not a scholar in ISLAM. But What I have learned from the debate of william cample and Jakir Naik, I can answer your question as follows,

1. To emphasize His (Allah's) deep dissatisfaction towards the Jew who deliberately purposefully harras prophet Moses (PBUH) Allah (SWT) may had used this grammar.

2. To emphasise His (ALLAH's) deep anger towards the rejectionist (Jew, Nasara, Pegan) who knows in their mind that Prophet Muhammad's message is the true message of ALLAH (SWT) but still they deny the truth out of arrogance, pride of cultural inheritance, bond to fore-father's faith etc.

3. If they were to become muslims they would corrupt ISLAM more.


In another verse Quoran it says ,''If there is anything good in their hearts (rejectionist) Allah (SWT) would make them muslims.

In another verse Quoran says,'' If He (SWT) whishes He could make everyone as muslims but then there would be (i cannot remember)......

Allah has sealed their hearts after they disbelieved ,they denied Allah ..
Also the word veil mention in this verse (ghishawah) is the veil that you still can see little bit trhough it ..There is still hope for them ..

Because these category of people they deny Allah ,after many signs given to them ,they still disbelieve and they dont want to change ...

Brother you need to read Tafseer about each verse ...
Second ,we dont question Allah SWT like this ..Allah has the perfect knowledge and Wisdom of everything ...
When you start reading the surat Al Baqarah ,what are the first words it start with ?
Thalikal kitabu LA Raiba fi hi
This is the book ,in it there is no doubt ..

This is the first command given ,when you read Quran you have to know its a perfect book ,without any errors or mistakes ,there is no doubt in it ...

Brother... Anyone who deliberately do not believe in Allah and His Messenger and His commands then actually it is they themselves who seal their own heart. But then why Allah says that He seals their heart?

Here is my answer:

Whatever is in this universe is created by Allah (SWT). Even our thoughts/feelings/emotions/anger/hate/love/arrogance etc are also a creation of Allah, but Allah has also given us (humans) certain power over them. And all these things (thoughts/feelings/emotions/anger/hate/love/arrogance etc) follow a certain law. And that law is also a creation of Allah.

For example... If you love someone you will behave in a different way than if you hate someone. If you have arrogance then you will block certain ideas or thoughts etc from entering your mind. And all these laws of psycology were created by Allah (SWT). And so this is a proof that Quran is directly from Allah because in it it is said by its writter that "I seal the hearts."

Suppose you are a developer/creator of a video game program. And in it you wrote a rule that when one character (digital person) come close to another character (digital person) and if the second character pushes the first then a mask falls and covers the face of that second character. Now when you will be talking about this with someone then wouldn't you say that when a character behaves this way I make a mask fall on his face. This is exactly what Allah is saying.

So again, in answer to your question... you yourself seal your own heart by rejecting the message of Allah, but Allah says that He seals your heart because your heart is sealed by the laws created by Allah (SWT).

Note: By "you" I do not mean you brother, but it is just a figure of speech.

Should He not know what He created? And He is the Subtile, the Aware. (14) 67:14


Its like saying all these people who dont want to see ISLAM prevail ,will be come muslims .Most of them will never ever become muslims except with the will of ALLAH aza wajallah , for ALLAH aza wajallah created them and HE knows them best . If somebody was to be muslim and challenge ISLAM it should have been abu lahab for sura Al-Masadd (111) was revealed when he was alive so he had the opportunity to prove that sura Al-Masadd (111) was the opposite . But guess what he did not but rather choosed to die as unbeliever and hell as his home and this is one of the Miracle of QURAN . Now you know why their seal their hearts.
