[Question] Is it a sin to say Wallahe or Wallah

I want to ask a question. Are you aloud to swear on Allah like saying " I swear to God". I think the most common term is Wallah. I do not like this because my brother does it on me and he knows if i say "Wallahe" or "Wallah" that i wont disobey it. I know you cant say it for something haram, but what if you want to get information out of someone, you could use this to force him to say what they want to know. Or, make them do things that are not fair.. Cause in some cases like older brother will probably start yelling at you if you dont say Wallah and do everything by force

Example:
Asker-Did you go on Msn?
Teller- No
Asker- Say Wallahe that you didnt go on msn
Teller- Wallahe...

So what is the ruling on this i personally hate this word because its like forcing you to say it. If you try to say " i dont have to answer that" then obviously its the negative answer the asker wants to know.

Of course it is allowed, however it is only used by the righteous when they need it most or to strengthen their argument. It can be useful in ending an argument between two muslims as well (as long as both of them respect Allaah).

If you are a person who does not lie, you should tell anyone who asks you to say it that "look brother/sister, this is a silly matter that I have no reason to lie about. I do not lie and I am telling you this is how it is. Do not ask me to swear by Allaah because this does not require it".

Sometimes it does become a habit, and when it does, it might lose some of its impact. Hence why you should avoid using it when it is not necessary.

So only if it's by choice?

I do not understand completly, are you trying to say if someone asks you to say Wallah, and you say it, It will not be considered an oath since it wasnt your intention and another person is asking you?

If it's not that then this word shouldnt be used at all because you can force word's and truth's out of your own people just for their own need's.

to Allah we belong
some ppl make it a habit to say Wallah for no reason. its a very bad thing.

in 15-min talk, they'll swear 20 times.

oaths are taken only when necessary.

Subhan'Allah

Salaams,

I would like to know if their are any sound hadiths or fatwas on this matter. This is another thing the people here in Tunisia do all the time. I will not say this because it is similar to the christians saying "I swear to the God" which I always hated when they would say this growing up. Now I hear it all the time here. As it was mentioned they use this term so loosely in their conversations.
I always say bil haqh(with the truth).

Subhan Allah, I was in one of the classes of Almaghrib and then somebody asked this question. The Sheikh (Instructor) told us in a funny way, there is no need to swear by Allah everytime we speak, which most people do as a habit.
