Refutation of those who say that women should not pray Eid in the mosque
Why Women are not allowed for EID's Namaz in Masjid?

Whoever says that women should not pray Eid in the mosque should note that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) commanded women to go out to the Eid prayers. It was narrated that Umm ‘Atiyyah said: “We were commanded to go out on the day of Eid, even to bring out the virgins from their seclusion and the menstruating women, who would be behind the people, joining in their takbeer and du’aa’s, sharing the blessings of this day.” (Narrated by al-Bukhaari, al-Jumu’ah, 918)

But if a woman is menstruating she should keep away from the prayer place and not enter it, but she should witness the good and the du’aa’ of the Muslims, and listen to the khutbah from outside the prayer place. A woman should avoid wearing adornments and go out wearing old clothes which do not form any kind of adornment in themselves, so that she will not be a source of temptation to men. She should not go out wearing perfume. ‘Abd-Allaah ibn al-Mubaarak said, “If a woman insists on going out, then her husband should give her permission to go out wearing old clothes and not wearing adornments. If she insists on that then the husband has the right to prevent her from going out.” And Allaah knows best.

Do not forget to fast the day of arafaah.Thursday 26 November 2009
the Prophet (Peace & Blessings of Allaah be upon Him) said: "Fasting the day of ‘Arafaah, I hope, will expiate the sins of the year before it and the year to come, and fasting the day of ‘Aashooraa’ (the tenth day of Muharram), I hope, will expiate the sins of the year before it." (Reported by Muslim, 1976).

And Allaah knows best.

Those who are unable to fast feed the fasting persons. One can take some dates to mosque or prepare food for u sisters ,brothers, daughters husbands or sons .

:salam2:,

yes of course women are allowed to go for Eid prayer. but listen to Sheikh's advice also. no attractive clothes and no perfume.

there is some wrong belief that once you have scarf over the head, you can wear tight attractive clothes, wear perfume and go to masjid.

The Tabligh Jamat are the only group i know that says this.
:salam2: say what? that woman SHOULD NOT go? If anybody says so they are ignore of hanafi fiqh rules. Its allowed for woman to go for EId salah with the permission of Husband. But its a not MUST as its not fard for woman to pray Eid or jumah. As conditions matter mentioned above , like:
The women should not be scantly adorned.
They should not have applied perfume etc.

There were a lot of sahaba(rd) and salaf prevented woman to come in the mosque cause of fitnah issue. for example :

1.Sayyidatuna Ayesha (R.A) (Sahih Al Bukhari )
2.Sayyiduna Abdullah b. Mas’ood (R.A) (Majma’uz Zawaahid)
3.Sayyiduna Abdullah b. Umar (R.A) (Musannad ibn Abi Sheyba #5845)
4.Sayyiduna Urwa b. Zubayr (R.A) (Musannad ibn Abi Sheyba #5846)
5.Sayyiduna Qasim b. Mohammed b. Abi Bakr Faqih Al Madinah (R.A) (Musannad ibn Abi Sheyba #5847)
6.Sayyiduna Ibraheem Nakh’ee (R.A) (Musannad ibn Abi Sheyba #5844, #5848)
7.Imaam Abdullah b. Al-Mubarak (R.A) (Sunan Tirmidhi #539-40 Vol.2 Pg.420)
8.Imaam Malik (R.A) (Umdatur Qari Vol.3 Pg. 305)
9.Imaam Sufiyaan As Thawri (R.A) (Sunan Tirmidhi)

We've never been told we can go. :(

We're not allowed. We sit at home
There are two different opinion about women go to Masjid for pray Eid. Allowed and not allowed
Jumhur (majority of) Ulama say women are allowed to pray Eid in Masjid but the rest say women are not allowed to pray Eid in masjid.

Even in some places, women are not allowed to entering Masjid. I.e in Eritrea or in Afghanistan during Taliban period.

:salam2: It is not true that woman are not allowed to go to the masjid on Eid. I feel that a lot of women dont go more cause they are preparing food.

All Muslims may pray in the masjid. It seems to me that when women are banned from the communal prayers, it is a result of cultural standards superseding Islam.

I'd also like to say that, while there are reasons for a woman to not be allowed in, improper attire, etc., I also see a lot of brothers that should not be allowed in to the prayers as well. Why tell a woman with perfume on that she can't pray, when a brother in skin tight jeans and a t-shirt with inappropriate artwork, is standing in the front row. Standards need to be equally applied.
