Brother In Islam,

Thanks for letting me know. As usual, I see the word Islam and think it is Islam.

I listen to Dr. Phillips and Yusuf Estes often. I just don't recognize the names yet of the beliefs of which they warn .

The concept of "GOD" as omnipresent is rampant not just in the Hindus who teach that all the "gods" are anthropomorphic aspects of One all pervasive Spirit, but it is also a major doctrine in most Christian and New Age Groups.

I guess the Trinitarians just like saying things in threes: Omnipotent, Omniscient, Omnipresent. But, of course we know that Allah's Throne is above The Earth and Allah is above His Throne

Yunus
Lo! your Lord is Allah Who created the heavens and the earth in six Days, then He established Himself upon the Throne, directing all things. There is no intercessor (with Him) save after His permission. That is Allah, your Lord, so worship Him. Oh, will ye not remind? (3)

Al-Rad
Allah it is Who raised up the heavens without visible supports, then mounted the Throne, and compelled the sun and the moon to be of service, each runneth unto an appointed term; He ordereth the course; He detaileth the revelations, that haply ye may be certain of the meeting with your Lord. (2)

Ta-Ha
The Beneficent One, Who is established on the Throne. (5)

Al-Mumenoon
Say: Who is Lord of the seven heavens, and Lord of the Tremendous Throne? (86)

Al-Burooj
And He is the Forgiving, the Loving, (14) Lord of the Throne of Glory, (15)

Brother you are even more succinct than usual. I hope I didn't offend you in anyway. I am guilty of often challenging statements; however, I certainly would not direct my efforts against a brother who has been so helpful. If I have offended you, remember, even though I am an idiot, you can't be upset with me for more than three days. :)

Walaykumsalaam waa rahmatullahi beloved brother,

They are many deviant groups in Islam, who have unfortunately fallen in to shirk as a result of not affirming that Allah is above his throne. Some have tried to give philosophical interpretations while others have overlooked it by saying that it is 'not literally meant'. The result has been always the same. The deviants end up worshiping the creation rather than the Creator.

The main body of Islam, Ahl us Sunnah Wa'al Jama'a affirm to all of that is mentioned in the Quran, without giving any philosophical interpretations. The names and attributes of Allah are affirmed without tashbih (establishing likeness), takyeef (speculating as to "how" they are manifested in the divine), ta'teel (negating/denying their apparent meaning, and without ta'weel (giving it secondary/symbolic meaning which is different from the apparent meaning).

Therefore, we should avoid people supporting anthropomorphism in Islam, as it leads to Shirk.

Brother you are even more succinct than usual. I hope I didn't offend you in anyway. I am guilty of often challenging statements; however, I certainly would not direct my efforts against a brother who has been so helpful. You definitely haven't offended me, beloved brother. Being my elder brother, I would request you to overlook my shortcomings if I had written something in haste and not paid attention to proper mannerism & etiquettes in explaining and addressing the issues on this forum.

May Allah subhaana waa ta'ala bless us all with beneficial knowledge. Ameen

Wasalamalaykum waa rahmatullahi

Assalamu'alaykum,

Brother in Islam,

You are always the perfect example of etiquette. As you may or may not know, many of us here in America are glib. It is probably the result of being raised in front of a tv. I really have to work on that. I should know that an individual is known by what he says and does. It I act serious, people will take me serious. If I act foolish, people will take me for a fool. That is just a piece of wisdom that I picked up at The FIKS.
