Salaam 'aleikum everyone,

I'm just so excited, I'm wanting to tell everyone :) As some of you may know I said my shahadah in Ramadan last year, but didn't tell my family.
My mom knows for a while know and she's accepting about it, though not enthousiastic, but no one else knew yet. Yesterday I went to the wedding of a nephew from my mother's side (on my father's side I hardly have any family) and set the gossip-machine on :SMILY209:
I casually let slip to one girl I am muslim (I very casually had directed the conversation towards religion :D), then half way in the conversation the long-time girlfriend of my oldest nephew joined us, hearing us speak and asked me if I was muslim. I said yes. She like 'ohhhh interesting' and started asking me questions about what attracts me in the religion etc. A few minutes later my nephew, her boyfriend, joins us and asks the same when he realises what we're talking about. He like 'wow, serious?' And then went on 'I got a friend who is marrying a muslim girl and he has reverted too. I also went with him to the mosque a couple of times to hear the lectures. It was very interesting and has a lot in common with the basic ideas of christianity' (they're all Catholic). He thought Islam a wonderful religion, subhanallah! Allah (swt) is at work :D
So they now know about me and the way they usually gossip, I guess the whole family will know soon enough :p
I'm so incredibly grateful that my 'change' is so well received untill now :SMILY33: And I was soooo scared about telling them! Hope the rest of the family will be as positive about it too when they hear it.
And one of my friends said it was no surprise when I told her last week :) she said it suited my character and would have been more surprised if I hadn't made the step in the end.. Alhamdulillah for all the positive responses I'm getting, I had never expected it. Guess I have good family and friends :hearts:

I do hope more of you may have the same wonderful experience :inshallah:
:hearts::

I am sure sister you have a great family. In this day and age when the propaganda against Islam is at its peak, your family's reaction is extremely positive. I have good hopes for them.

Also sister it is Allah who makes it easy for people, and Alhamdulillah He has made it easy for you, and InshaAllah He will make you a beacon of light for your family. Ameen !

Allahamdulliah sister good to see you as part Islamic family. Now key to your family is good behavior and manner. I not saying you were not in relation with them. But you need to prove to them that you have really changed positively. And most important ask Allah to you in this.
May Allah guide them and us All.
Ameen

Congratulations Sis
I would like to give brief advice, always think positive with destinies that comes from Allah, since prophet Mohammed (peace be upon him) Said in the Hadeeth saheeh (accurate) Allah said “I will be exactly at what my worshipers think, if they think good then they always have good, while if they think bad then they will have it”
Please put this golden advice in your head and your heart, be always think positive with Allah, you will definitely have positive fortunes. However, if you may face some troubles or problems in the future still take them positive and be a good act.
