:salam2: brother and sisters in islam

‘Abdullah Bin Mas’ud (radhiallâhu anhu) narrated that Allah’s Messenger (sallallâhu ‘alayhi wasallam) said, “Allah Most High has allotted you your characters just as He has allotted you your provisions. Allah Most High gives worldly things to those whom He loves and those whom He does not love, but He gives religion only to those whom He loves, so he who is given religion by Allah has been loved by Him. By Him in Whose hand my soul is, a man is not a Muslim till his heart and tongue are submissive, and he is not a believer till his neighbor is safe from injurious behavior on his part.”*!*!*!(Tirmidhi 4994)

this is a beautiful hadith i just want to know if its sahih and if so how do we know if a hadith is sahih or not i have read it in many places and i also read a similar version posted by someone from another hadith book

Messenger of Allaah (peace be upon him) said: “Allaah has shared out your attitudes among you just as He has shared out your provisions. Allaah gives worldly provision to those whom He loves and those whom He does not love, but He gives religion only to those whom He loves. So whoever is given religion, Allaah loves him…”
(Narrated by Ahmad)

Could someone knowledgable verify please?

:salam2: Brother,

This hadith was classified as "weak" by Shaikh Al-Albani, but "authentic" by another Hadith scholar, Shaikh Ahmad Shaker.

What should the Muslim do with regard to scholarly differences of opinion as to whether a hadeeth is sound or weak?

But I should also add that Shaikh Al-Albani classified another hadith as "authentic" with another narration, but the same beginning.

Translation:

“God has apportioned to you your characters in the same way as He has apportioned your provisions. God gives wealth to those He loves and those He does not love, while He does not grant faith except to those whom He loves. He who holds money too dearly to spend it (for God’s cause) and is prevented by the fear of the enemy from fighting and is too weary to stand up at night in worship, should often repeat: “There is no deity except Allah,” and “All glory be to Allah,” and “All praise be to Allah,” and “Allah is supreme”.

These are the translations of La ilaaha illa Allah, and Subhana Allah, and Al-hamdu lillah, and Allahu akbar.

:salam2: Brother,

It is written in my post above, but in Arabic. You should take Arabic lessons.:)

It is hadith #1571 in Skaikh Al-Albani`s Sahih Al-Targhib Wa Al-Tarheeb.

You can download the book from this link:

Sahih Al-Targhib Wa Al-Tarheeb

But again, it is in Arabic.
