Walaykumsalaam waa rahmatullahi,

First of all, congratulations on saying the shahada. May Allah azz zawajal reward you and bless you immensely. Ameen

It is recommended to attend the wedding feast (waleema) in particular and other invitations (unless you have a genuine excuse) due to the hadeeth below :

Ibn Umar (Allah be pleased with him) reported that Allah’s Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: When any one of you is invited to a feast, he should attend it. (muslim)

Prophet Muhammad (S) said: “…and he who refuses to accept an invitation to a marriage feast, verily disobeys Allah and His Prophet”. (Ahmad & Abu Dawood)

With regards to dress, muslim women dress conservatively and observes proper Hijab when among non-mahram men which covers their entire body without revealing the shape of their body. Wearing an abaya would do the needful InshaAllah. Perhaps you can consult the sisters on TTI for help with regards to purchasing such clothes in your locality or online.

As for the gift, perhaps this book here would make a good gift choice. Or maybe a watch, some jewelry or perfume.

Hope this helps InshaAllah.. Wasalaamalaykum waa rahmatullahi

Alhamdulillah! :)

About the gift, it doesn't matter what it is, it doesn't have to be something expensive or whatever. Like what sister queenislam said, it's the thought that counts! Jewellery, something for the house they'd probably move in to like [kitchen appliances or whatever they'd find useful?], Islamic books, gift cards, perfumes [like attar], or anything else you find nice like a souvenir or something. :D

As for the attire, if you haven't started wearing hijab, try to dress so that your whole body is covered and not that tight. Or if you'd like to start wearing the hijab, go right ahead! :hijabi:

Hope this helped!

Sister in Islam
Salaamu Aleikum, Samantha, and congratulations on your shahada, Masha'Allah. May Allah guide you to being the best Muslima, insha'Allah.

Great advice from the brothers and sisters above for you - relax and enjoy the wedding, your first as a Muslimah, masha'Allah.

WELCOME BACK TO ISLAM:shake:

as you said that you dont know to pray properly... here Im posting the same reply which i gave to one of our members recently;;;:hearts:

I would suggest you to read the book of Sheikh Albaani, as Dr Zakir Naik suggests the same....which is entitled as "the Prophet's prayer described"

to get the book as a pdf...follow the below link..

you will find it in the SECOND thread, ninth book..

http://www.turntoislam.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3857

the same book is there in this link too

http://muslimconverts.com/e-books/Th...ibed/index.htm

and as far the wedding question...any gift can be given..plus Its a Sunnah to make the following Dua on them..

"May ALLAH bless for you (your spouse) and bless you and may HE unite both of you in goodness"
[Aboo dawood, At-tirmidi and Ibn Maajah, see At-tirmidee 1/316]
