Will we be reunited with our families in Jannah?

Assalamu alaikum.

I guess the question says it all, but I came across someone who told me that the people in Jannah won't see or even recognize their families or friends in Jannah.

I'm not sure if it is true but the thought of it just scares me, to not be able to recognize my mother or see her.

Well anyway, I just wanna know if this is true.

This is a Christian idea, I think. I was told this by a couple of pastors when I went to church. He said one reason that heaven would be happy & painless, is because we would not recognize anyone, so we wouldnt be sad if they werent there. :O

:\ Weird, a Muslim told me that! The same exact thing that we won't be sad being able to recognize them... That goes for the enemies, but what about your parents, husband, wife, and kids? :\

@xAllahKnowsBestx: Jannah is the destination for salvation. Its an abode for a Momeen ,free from all worldly sorrows and lusts in vicinity of our Lord and so what else will a Momeen soul desire.

...Those who said that you wont see or even recognize your family or friends have lied and have NO EVIDENCE for what they have said !!

84. Al-Inshiqaq (The Sundering, Splitting Open)

1. When the heaven is split asunder,
2. And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so;

3. And when the earth is stretched forth,
4. And has cast out all that was in it and became empty,

5. And listens and obeys its Lord, and it must do so;
6. O man! Verily, you are returning towards your Lord with your deeds and actions (good or bad), a sure returning, so you will meet (i.e. the results of your deeds which you did).

7. Then, as for him who will be given his Record in his right hand,
8. He surely will receive an easy reckoning,

9. And will return to his family in joy!


SO YOU INSHALLAH you WILL BE with your FAMILY AND FRIENDS 100% in jannah .( if your family and friends are believers) You will meet them and they will meet you and there will be eternal Joy !!!




Muslim :: Book 40 : Hadith 6792

Anas b. Malik reported that Allah's Messenger (may peace be upon him) said: In Paradise there is a street to which they would come every Friday. The north wind will blow and would scatter fragrance on their faces and on their clothes and would add to their beauty and loveliness, and then they would go back to their family after having an added lustre to their beauty and loveliness, and their family would say to them: By Allah, you have been increased in beauty and loveliness after leaving us, and they would say: By Allah, you have also increased in beauty and loveliness after us.

May Allah re-unite you with your Family and friends in Jannah Firdaws al ala !!

I don't have the hadeeth to hand but to my memory yes you will be with your families, and Allah's mercy is such that if your mother is in a higher position in jannah he will raise you to that same level. Insha'Allah I will post the hadeeth later, unless someone can beat me to it

Among the bountiful and abundant blessings that Allaah bestows upon His creation is that if the believers’ offspring follow them in faith, they will be joined with their fathers in the same level of Paradise even if they themselves did not reach that level, so that their fathers may have the joy of seeing their offspring. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And those who believe and whose offspring follow them in Faith, - to them shall We join their offspring, and We shall not decrease the reward of their deeds in anything…” [al-Toor 52:21]

It is on the day of judgement everyone will deny knowing their family, in fear that they might request some good deeds be given or bad deeds taken. Every one will be busy with their own records. But in Jannah, as the brothers said, Alhamdulillah, is right.
