Assalam Alaikum: My Islamic Br's & Sis's.

I came across a Naat, which is equivalence of Arabic Nasheeds,in Urdu. Just a couple of lines I would like to share,

'' We feed at yours, We sing in your praise Ya RasoolAllah,
Why should we not celebrate your Birthday (Milad) Ya RasoolAllah"

For Indian and Pakistani Br's/Sis's the original words

" Tera Khawa Me Tere Geet Gawa Ya RasoolAllah
Tera Milad Me Kyyo Na Manawa Ya RasoolAllah"

Is it Islam?. It's totally strange, attributes of Allah addressed to Muhammad (SAW). It is mostly the same story if you stretch along all four direction in India, not to mention Pakistan too.

Regards.

Even marking the birthday of Rasulullaah salAllaahu alayhi wasallam is an innovation without the added detail of the songs they sing which sound very close to shirk. Its not from the Sunnah, holds absolutely no benefit for those involved, yet these people think its a demonstration of their commitment to the deen. No surprises why Shaytaan loves bid'ah, Audhbillaah.

Its all over the sub-continent and there is severe lack of education and actual hostility toward those who prohibit the celebration. The best you can probably do is keep yourself away from it all!

Ooopps..

I dont understand Urdu / Hindi.. but i listen to those naats.. to be honest.. I was listening to this particular naat which is sung by a small boy, this morning ... Oops ... But I never knew it was indicating theses stuff... oOO

But brother.. You have underlined the word "YA".. It has got no problem I guess.. because, I have studied that YA in Arabic means, "Oh" in English :)

So you can call Rasoolallah (PBUH) or any other human being by adding a YA before their name..:) no problem with it.. :)

Even the companions of the Prophet (PBUH) have called him as "Ya Rasoolallah".. that means, "Oh prophet of Allah ! "

But I agree with you... that you can never digest it when it comes to the point of the celebration of the prophet (PBUH)'s Birth day.....

JAZAKALLAHU KHAIR for translating these lines.. I better avoid listening these songs..

If we wanna estimate, then we must estimate Islam by referring to the Qur'an and Sahih Hadeeth :) ... not with the stanzas written by poets :)

May Allah Azzawajal bless and guide this nation Aameen

Assalam Alaikum: Sis.

I heard a lecture by Abdul Raheem Green, that word ''Ya" is used only to address who is alive. Sahabi used ''Ya'' to address Muhammad (SAW) because He (SAW) was present at that time.

I am not expert of Arabic. I apologize in advance if I am wrong.

Once I went to buy DVDs of lectures by Dr.Jakir Naik in a Muslim dominated area in my city. The shopkeeper behaved rudely and used a foul denotation for Dr. Naik. I follow pure Islam as taught by Muhammad (SAW),a born Muslim rejected my reversion saying you have fallen from sky and now entangled to a date tree, meaning I am still no where (away from Islam).

brother I agree with you that there is ignorance everywhere...
so they try to prove you wrong following their personal desires, nothing to do with islam...
I apologize for his behaviour...and regarding ur naats concern...you vl find actually a greater percentage of naats containing shirk and u need to search for good ones...
that is not a surprise for me...

«لَا تُطْرُونِي كَمَا أَطْرَتِ النَّصَارَىِ عِيسَى ابْنَ مَرْيَمَ. فَإِنَّمَا أَنَا عَبْدٌفَقُولُوا: عَبْدُاللهِ وَرَسُولُه»
(Do not unduly praise me like the Christians exaggerated over `Isa, son of Maryam. Verily, I am only a servant, so say, `Allah's servant and His Messenger.') This is the wording of Al-Bukhari. Imam Ahmad recorded that Anas bin Malik said that a man once said, "O Muhammad! You are our master and the son of our master, our most righteous person and the son of our most righteous person...'' The Messenger of Allah said,

(O people! Say what you have to say, but do not allow Shaytan to trick you. I am Muhammad bin `Abdullah, Allah's servant and Messenger. By Allah! I do not like that you elevate me above the rank that Allah has granted me.)

The Prophet's ( ) said that he related from his Lord: "I created all my servants upon the true Religion (upon Tawhîd, free from Shirk Monotheism). Then the devils came to them and led them astray from their true Religion. They made unlawful to people that which I had made lawful for them, and they commanded them to associate in worship with Me, that which I had sent down no authority." Related by Muslim (8/159) and Ahmad (4/162)

Why should you apologize for the Mis-Conduct of an another Muslim. As Allah says in Quran ''Every Soul shall lift the burden for His/Her own Deed'' (Its not exact translation).

He thought he was right so he tried to prove you wrong and that also in an ignorant way. It's the same in pakistan.Ignorants become rude when it comes to religion.Just wave him off your mind.

Assalam-o-alikum dear brother Abdullah

If you look around you will also find that many Muslims do grave worship too. I am talking about what happens in places like Dargahs? These people ask the dead saints to fulfill their needs instead of asking Allah (SWT). This is a biddah (innovation) as well as shirk.
And if I have heard correctly, these days more Hindus go to these Dargahs than Muslims, making it a booming business.

Don't ever go near that.
Let us pray that Allah (SWT) give guidance to these misguided people. Ameen.

Walikum Assalam: Br.

You are absolutely right that more Hindus visit Dargahs and shrines than Muslims. A Hindu can worship almost anything :) When I wasn't a Muslim but was sure about Islam being the only truth,I was very puzzled to find Muslims visiting Dargahs. Because I read Quran and was aware of Tawheed. One day with fears of adverse reaction I anyhow managed to ask a Muslim about visiting Dargahs and shrines. He told me it was absolutely an innovation and is strictly forbidden in Islam. It was a moment of joy and pleasure for me,as now I was able to expel some doubts about Islam from my mind. During my Pre-Islamic days I was always busy in thoughts, why whatever Allah commanded in Quran,I find no Muslim sticking to that,at least in my city.

Regards.

Nothing surprising here brother. This is from a religion called tasawwuf. They beleive that Rasulullah(a.s.) is still alive and he can hear, communicate and help them wherever they are.Their sheiks can talk to him(a.s.) and get knowledge not only from him but from Allah,as well.

Actually, when you go deeper, they beleive that Muhammed(a.s.) is not different from Allah, everything you see in the universe is Allah:astag:.But,mass followers of tasavvuf know nothing about it, they just have to obey their sheiks without questioning.

The sad thing is it is wide spread all over the muslim world.May Allah save muslims from deviations of tasavvuf.
