A passing thought about salah

I hope this post finds everyone in the best of health and imaan, inshaAllah.
Yesterday ,I had some thoughts after performing salatul Isha that I would like to share with you, inshaAllah.

How do you feel when you perform salah?

I feel as if I am protected when I am performing salah.I feel if anything happens to me when I am performing salah,I am safe.Even if I die in salah I am safe. For that is the moment I am in a contact with my creator,Allah.
”To Allah we belong to Him shall we be returned.”

Salah when translated from Arabic to English,it means "connection".
It is the moment we are contacting our Lord.We are surrounded by Allah’s mercy as it descends on us when we are performing salah. As a hadith whose mahfoom is:
Abu Umamah narrates that the Muhammad :saw: said, "Allah does not Listen to anything from His servant as He does to the two rakahs (of prayer) that he offers. Mercy descends over the servant's head as long as he remains in prayer." (Tirmidhi and Ahmad) As-Suyuti considers it sahih."

So,I feel that there is nothing that can harm us when we are in salah except with Allah’s leave and even if we die in salah we die surrounded by Allah’s mercy and will be raised that when on the day of Judgement inshaAllah.

Then I was thinking about sajah, that our Prophet ( :saw: ) said: "The closest position that a person can be from God is at the time of Sujood; hence increase your Du'a'." (Ahmad, Muslim, Dawood) and how that position wherein we are in a cringing, humbled before Allah resembles a baby inside a womb, who is cringed in a similar manner.
So,I took two photos one illustrating sajdah position and other illustrating a fetus inside a womb and how similar they are,SubhanAllah!

Then I remembered reading about Allah’s name Ar-Rahman and Ar-Raheem::

Ar-Rahman and Ar-Rahim are two names derived from Ar-Rahmah (the mercy), but Rahman has more meanings that pertain to mercy than Ar-Rahim. There is a statement by Ibn Jarir that indicates that there is a consensus on this meaning. Further, Al-Qurtubi said, "The proof that these names are derived (from Ar-Rahmah), is what At-Tirmidhi recorded - and graded Sahih from `Abdur-Rahman bin `Awf that he heard the Messenger of Allah say,
«قَالَ اللهُ تَعَالى: أَنَا الرَّحْمنُ خَلَقْتُ الرَّحِمَ وَشَقَقْتُ لَهَا اسْمًا مِنِ اسْمِي، فَمَنْ وَصَلَهَا وَصَلْتُهُ وَمَنْ قَطَعَها قَطَعْتُهُ»
(Allah the Exalted said, 'I Am Ar-Rahman. I created the Raham (womb, i.e. family relations) and derived a name for it from My Name. Hence, whoever keeps it, I will keep ties to him, and whoever severs it, I will sever ties with him.') He then said, "This is a text that indicates the derivation.'' He then said, "The Arabs denied the name Ar-Rahman, because of their ignorance about Allah and His attributes.''(From Tafsir Ibn Kathir)

SubhanAllah!I think a person is most protected in this position of sajdah, cringing and humbled before His Lord on the ground with Allah’s mercy surrounding Him(keeping in mind how the word mercy came into being, analogically).Even if we were to die in that state,we will die being in a closest position to Allah(inshaAllah).Hence there is no fear fr a believer for a muslim is always in a state of submission, surrounded by Allah’s mercy. Emphasis on the words believers and muslims who are true in their essence.
Allah’s mercy ,that which surrounds,us,protects us and nourishes us.
What more a protecting state can a believer be in,except the state of sajdah(the same position we were protected inside our mother’s womb) and what more a sublime and beautiful postion can one be in, except in sajdah and what a beautiful state to die in, except in the state of submission performing sajdah.Dying the way we were born, submitting to our Lord and the Lord of ‘Alameen. And what a beautiful state to be resurrected in except in position of sajdah.
This is something I felt and wanted to share, with all.Alhamdulillah for Islam,Alhamdulillah He made us muslims,we cannot thank Allah enough for how merciful He is to us.All we can say is Alhamdulillah!

May Allah cause us to die as muslims, submitting to His will and cause us to enter jannatul firdaus.Ameen.

Salaams,

Thank you for sharing your thoughts on Salah. I'm particularly interested by the pictures you've posted, there's alot of similarity between a person in sujood and a foetus in the womb, I've never thought about it or visualised it until now, it's amazing!

I hope and pray that we can all attain the proximity of Allah through our salah.

Yes,it is amazing Alhamdulillah and it is the most peaceful and soothing position one can be in.In this position:
1)We are in a position closest to Allah.
2)His mercy is descending upon us while we are in salah and imagine the mercy descending upon as at the time of sujood in a position closest to Allah!
SubhanAllah nothing can be more soothing, calming and comforting than this position.
Keeping in mind how the word mercy rahamah is analogical to raham (womb). It surrounds us,protects us ,nourishes and comforts us.Allah's mercy towards His slaves is MUCH more than a mother's towards her child.
What more can a believer ask? What more can a person ask?
Ameen to you duas.

:wasalam:You're welcome,wa iyyakum.

Yes I saw that video's pic in related videos and heard about it and maybe saw it(but I forgot). It was adorable indeed mashaAllah.
It's amazing how beautiful creation of Allah a mother's womb is,protecting, nourishing and caring for the baby, just like Allah's mercy and Allah is MUCH more merciful to us than a mother to her child

I was reading brother salahdin's post "Pride:A barrier to paradise" http://www.turntoislam.com/forum/showthread.php?t=80046
and this thought came up in my mind.

How when we are in sajdah,we are humbled and our pride tends to zero and huility tends to infinite, for those who have pride, theyir is a saying"hold your head high" or something. When in sajdah that is lowered to a humbled state in a lowest position, touching the ground, with our feet and ground in the same plane. This is a state of humility, servility humbleness before Allah and this is the position in which we are closest to Him.
Prophet ( :saw: ) said: "The closest position that a person can be from God is at the time of Sujood; hence increase your Du'a'." (Ahmad, Muslim, Dawood)
This is the position when our pride is least and humility and servility is highest in fron t of Allah The Most High,The Exalted.

There is a hadith e qudsi :****“Pride is My cloak and grandeur is my trousers. If anyone disputes with Me in any one of these (two) I shall admit him into the Hell-fire.”*****

The Prophet (sallahu alyhiwasallam) also used to say while bowing and prostrating in prayer: “Glory be to the Possessor of omnipotent and irresistible power, owner of all dominion, and of all grandeur and might.” [Sunan Abī Dāwūd (873) and Sunan al-Nasā’ī (1049)]

He is Allah , other than whom there is no deity, the Sovereign, the Pure, the Perfection, the Bestower of Faith, the Overseer, the Exalted in Might, the Compeller, the Superior. Exalted is Allah above whatever they associate with Him.*******Surat Al Hashr(translation)[59:23]

We are His slaves and we have to be humble and not arrogant, the sajdah is a position in which we are closest to Allah, that is when our pride is reduced to zero and humility to infinite.Unlike shaytaan who was arrogant and proud and became disbeliever because of it.

Haritha ibn Wahb said, "I heard the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, say, 'Shall I tell you about the people of the Fire? All those who are coarse, domineering, and arrogant.'" [Agreed upon]**”*****
Abu Sa'id al-Khudri reported that the Messenger of Allah, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, said, "The Garden and the Fire argued and the Fire said, 'I have the tyrants and the arrogant.' The Garden said, 'I have the weak and poor people.' Allah judged between them, 'You, the Garden, are My mercy. By you I show mercy to whomever I wish. You, the Fire, are My punishment by whom I punish whomever I will. It is My duty to fill both of you."
[Muslim]

SubhanAllahi wa bihamdihi subhallahil adheem.

I hope and pray that even when we are not in a state of sajdah, may our souls be in a state of sajdah, zero pride ,infinite humbleness.Ameen.

Is one who is devoutly obedient during periods of the night, prostrating and standing [in prayer], fearing the Hereafter and hoping for the mercy of his Lord, [like one who does not]? Say, "Are those who know equal to those who do not know?" Only they will remember [who are] people of understanding.Surat Az-Zumar [39:9]
