Beautified for those who disbelieve is the life of this world, and they ridicule those who believe. But those who fear Allah are above them on the Day of Resurrection. And Allah gives provision to whom He wills without account.
2:212
We are given life in this world by Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala Himself, He forms us in our mother's womb and He breathes His Spirit into our soul to give it life. Therefore He chooses us for Himself, He educates us and tells us our reason for existence, we are told to obey His commands, He promises us another life that the human mind cannot comprehend, this life is eternal and we will spend that life with our Creator, however there is a condition attached to that offer and that is that we obey Him and follow His rules and laws. Then He gave everybody who is ever born in this world a choice, you can love this world and everything that it offers or you persevere and struggle through this life and strive for a better life in the next. But what is this struggle? Is it really a struggle?
People who understand and accept this challenge, it is no struggle at all. These people do good in this world, look after his fellow human being, a brother or sister, son or daughter of Adam. Communicate with Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala by praying at the prescribed times, giving charity, performing Hajj and fasting at the prescribed times and worshipping the One True God Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala. For the muslims who have submitted to His will this is no struggle but a joyous and a pleasing life filled with happiness. Joy radiates from his or her very being all the times that he or she remembers Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala.
Unfortunately, there are as many people who do not care about their salvation, rejecting faith and the Creator. These are all arrogant and selfish people who have no knowledge or wisdom and they think they know more than Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala. They are unaware of the depth of their folly, they are likened to cattle by Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala because they have been given intelligence and reasoning but they do not use it. These kinds of people are only ever worried about their own self. They live a life without caring or without any love for their brothers and sisters. They meander through life enjoying the meterial things that this world offers. Accumulating money and wealth which they would never use in a hundred life times. They love the latest gossip in a glossy magazine, rush home to watch the new soap opera filled with sex violence and other filth. On the way home listening to vile music which only has shameful lyrics.
So is giving up what we love in this dunya such a sacrifice?
