Winter blues?

I hope this post find everyone in the best of health and iman inshaAllah.
It's starting to feel like that again.Cold.
I feel that I am getting away from Allah.I understand we all have highs and lows of iman in our lives, but this is different.I still believe in Allah,His messengers the last day and other articles of faith but I don't feel anything.I have kinda lost all feeling now,as if dead inside like a zombie. Is it connected to winters?
I used to pray and there was taste in the prayers, the sajdah. It's all numbed now.I used to feel so much bliss,it's all gone.
I don't know if it's normal?I don't feel anything.Have a continuously bad feeling inside,my heart keeps sinking.As if I am dead,I fear my heart is hardened or there is a disease.Walyadhubillah!
I dont know what to do,my mind is saturated, just want to go to lie down in the bed and sleep and not wake up.
Don't even know why I write this.
Please pray for me.

Bro we all go through this phase, as you've stated everybody goes through a period when their imaan is tested. You know that we are tested to see if we persevered and stay the course and stay on the Straight Path. Shaytaan wants you to fail, he wants you to deviate from this Path. Do not listen to him, listen to Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala instead. You can hear him talk to you, just open up the pages of the Holy Qur'an and listen to His Holy Words full of wisdom and life. Choose Him. Implement the Five Pillars in your life again, if you have neglected any of it. Know also that He controls the seasons therefore if you feeling the cold now you must understand that summer is not far away. His warmth will engulf you like the hot rays of the sun, reach for it and you will feel the warmth. Do not give in to shaytaan's whisperings, you know full well where that will lead. Get closer to Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala and pray and communicate with Him, he promises us that He listens to all du'a. Have a conversation with Him, He is Allah Subhana Wa Ta'ala the giver of life. Choose life my brother.

I understand how you feel, happens to me also...when i pray and the sun enters from the window in my room is like a warmth and hapiness that i feel, more that when is cold and cloudy day...but when i go to the window and watch the sky more, i know Allah stille is around us..is just a natural law that Allah created for this Earth..the air is colder and more fresh..

Maybe you need more rest dear brother, maybe you are stressed about something, but all will pass with help of Allah, eat fresh food and fruits..and know that we all have this times, only Paradise has no sorrows...we pray for you like you also hade good words and help for the others

Assalaam walaikum,

I love the winter. I use any excuse to bake. Cookies with hot chocolate. Hot apple cider with cinanmon sticks. I love to step outside and let that cold snap you into being awake.
A brisk walk in the Arctic wind. MashaAllah.

And InshaAllah, we will get a blizzard, this year. I think a blizzard is a vacation. What a blessing that is to us. Family at its best.

When times are low we get down. But, there is only one way and that is up. I think about how the Prophet Yusef must have felt when he was being raised out of the well.

Dua. Dua. Dua. Dhikr. Dhikr.

You may want to attend more prayers at the masjid. A jumma increases iman. You are with a body of believers.

Brother, I read your responses. You are pensive. So write more on here.

I find that Sports/excercise always helps in bringing a person back to life.

As for religion-related things, helping the poor, seeing how easily you can change a persons life, seeing the smiles and happiness you bring to them, almost never fails.

Seeing how new Muslims make their shahadas and so on, makes one appreciate Islam even more, and feel (not realize because most of us do) how practicing it, has become routine to many.

Focusing only on one good deed, can make it turn into a routine, so one must also work on other things. Helping people etc if done for the sake of Allah swt is itself, a form of worship.

Thank you for those encouraging words akhi.Certainly helped me.When someone asked me about such feelings,I too would say it is from shaytaan do not give in to it,but look at me,I myself forgot what I used to tell others.

Jazakallah khayr for the reminder akhi.

Wa alaikumassalam warahmatullahi wabarakatuhu,
Jazakallah khayr for your advice sister wabarakallah feeki.
Yesterday I went for a walk at night after posting this and I looked around me at the trees and felt the cold fresh air.I looked at my mother and how much she loves me.It reminded me how full of mercy and how little we give thanks.La ilaha illallah!

Wa alaikumassalam warahmatullah,
Jazakallah khayr brother,I read that surah ,although I have read it before,it felt like it's the first time I was reading it and that it addressed me directly.Allahu Akbar!
SubhanAllah beautiful analogy,I hope I can walk after these steps inshaAllah,in the right direction.

Wa alaikumassalam warahmatullah,
Alhamdulillah, just visualising the feeling Hazrat Yusuf(alyhissalam) must have had when he was being raised from the well gave me goosebumps.SubhanAllah! From darkness to light, from lowness to elevation. From hopelessness to hope.Allahu Akbar!
Jazakallah khayr for your advices, inshaAllah I will adhere to them..

:wasalam:

InshaAllah I will try that akhil kareem.I understand that having is very important and sometimes I fail.I will try to rectify my actions.I would never judge anyone since Allah is the best of judges.I don't know, but everytime I am humiliated or humbled by people I feel closer to Allah and that Allah is trying to make me close to Him,so I don't think much of what people do to me think about me or treat me.I agree my attitude towards others should always be of ihsan and justice, regardless of how they treat me.I think letting go of our egos and surrendering them to Allah is ne the ways we can achieve peace and this one of the advices I revere and really appreciate.
Jazakallah khayr for your advice.

Reading the Qur'an is the cure to your problem yo

I think this video should prove helpful:

Jazakallah khayr akhi for that lecture.I often read that dua that says to make Qur'an spring of my heart light of my chest, banisher of my sorrows,a cure to my anxiety.
I totally agree with you.I have been away from Qur'an for sometime and I agree therein lies the cure.I was out of my home for 10 days and there was no opportunity to read Qur'an or be near it.I missed it.This is one of the best advice.Barakallahu feek.
Jazakallah khayr
wasalam.

Jazakallah khayr,wabarakallah feek akhi.
I used to go for morning jogs after fajr but I think I have been lazy this winter, inshaAllah I will try to improvise.

About helping the poor akhi that is one thing I need to add to my routine and you are absolutely right that it helps in making you feel better seeing them smile. This is one of the burden, when I pass by some beggar and dont give him anything,I feel it weighing down my back compared to when I do,it's depressing actually. There are some marketplace where when you give money to one beggar there is a wide network of them and they all hound you.So I have this feeling of helplessness,I want to help but I cant.I think this is one of the big duties being neglected by me wastaghfirullah.Advices in this field will be highly appreciated inshaAllah.

Reversioon videos are what brought me to this website. They are iman boosters, bigtime.I watched them since a long time and still do.InshaAllh I will do it again Jazakallah khayr for reminding me.

Jazakallah khayr for your advice regarding giving other aspect of faith time as well.Indeed it is true.Barakallah feek.

:salam2:
Jazakallah khayr everyone for your advices and may Allah bless you and your families.InshaAllah,I'll try to stick to them.
To be honest I felt a little embarrassed after writing this post, but Alhamdulillah after reading responses I believe I did the right thing. When I wrote this it was feeling as if my mind was going to explode and I didn't know what to do,so I ranted.I couldn't talk to anyone about it and didn't know whom to tell.May Allah bless each one of us and grant us His good pleasure, mercy and forgiveness.Ameen.
