As salamualaikum Warehmatullahi wabarakatahu..... Hope every brother and sister of tti is best in there health and imaan.... Since many daya there is a question in my mind i tried to find the answer on google but in vain hence i though to post it here where there are most knowlegable people who can help me out... My question is that is it permissible to read and transfer the sawab to a dead person??? And can any body read and transfer the sawab to anybody or is it only for the close relation members??? i am very much confused please help...................

Wassalaamu 'alaykum,
No one can read the quraan for a dead person.
There is no proof for such an action of reading the quraan for a dead person.
For those who say it is allowed, they must bring the proof.
things u can do 4 the dead include:
1-pray (do dua) for them - every1 can do
2-do hajj for them (if they havnt done it) - only sons/daughters can do
3-give charity on their behalf - only sons/daughters can do
4-do any obligatory fasts they left which they didnt do for a valid excuse - only sons/daughters can do
terer 1 or 2 more things one can do...

IslamQA addresses this issue quite a bit. I read a lot on it and got confused! Go to IslamQA and search keywords, "Quraan" and "deceased" or "dead"....
