Please define **Prom** for members who are not living in USA (i do live but just saying).

Good point akhi. Prom is a party that is set up by a high school at the end of the final semester. There is traditions depending on the region but basically dance with a girl, party, and go out to dinner to celebrate finishing high school.

Prom is DEFINATLEY haraam!

Music, dancing, girls half naked, people drinking alcohol or doing drugs in the parking lot, and of course what everyone "does" on prom night. I.E: Losing their virginity!

Ahudubillah!

If you want to celebrate your academic success, have a night dinner out with your family or have a gathering at home with your family. Dont go to prom.

I agree with the both of you, Allah yahdi my friend, I already used both of ur points and he is still in disagreement :angryred:. I appreciate ur help I think i just might put more emphasis on what it means to commit something haram and leave the rest to Allah.

Also, Mutle, your friend sounds like he is firm on going to the prom. And nothing anyone says is going to matter much. All I can say is i hope he doesnt do anything he will regret. May allah swt guide and forgive us all from transgressions.
