Subhanallah!

I do not have words to describe how I feel after listening to this reminder

May Allaah make us that one person from every 1000 who will be saved from the hellfire.

Asalamualaykum Brother,

JazakAllah Khair for the video. But a few things dont make sense to me. If what is mentioned in the video is going to happen then how is it that Adam (AS) is going to pick out who goes into the hellfre? Secondly, Where is the fact that we will be judged by ALLAH for each and every our sins?
It is not making sense to me.

Walaikkum Assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Sister, you should understand that this is an explanation of one hadeeth and the benefit of this hadeeth. Allah will judge us for each and every sin. That is also transmitted from other hadeeths. These don't contradict other. You should understand that Allah has power to make anything happen even if it doesn't make sense to you. Just like some miracles by Prophets doesn't make sense to people. It happens by the will and power of Allah.

Btw, this Hadith is transmitted in the two Sahihs (Bukhari and Muslim) from Al-A'mash, after Abu Salih, after Abu Sa' id Al-Khudri who narrated the Prophet (Peace be upon him) to have said: "Allah will say (on the Day of Resurrection), 'O Adam!' Adam will reply, 'Labbaik wa Sa'daik, and all the good is in Your Hand.' Allah will say: 'Bring out the people of the fire.' Adam will say: 'O Allah! How many are the people of the Fire?' Allah will reply: 'From every one thousand, take out nine-hundred and ninety-nine.' At that time children will become hoary headed, every pregnant female will have a miscarriage, and one will see mankind as drunken, yet they will not be drunken, but dreadful will be the Wrath of Allah." The Companions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) asked, "O Allah's Messenger! Who is that (excepted) one?" He said, "Rejoice with glad tidings; one person will be from you and one thousand will be from Gog and Magog." The Prophet (Peace be upon him) further said, "By Him in Whose Hands my life is, hope that you will be one-fourth of the people of Paradise." We shouted, "Allahu Akbar!" He added, "I hope that you will be one-third of the people of Paradise. We shouted, "Allahu Akbar!" He said, "I hope that you will be half of the people of Paradise." We shouted, "Allahu Akbar!" He further said, "You (Muslims) (compared with non Muslims) are like a black hair in the skin of a white ox or like a white hair in the skin of a black ox (i.e. your number is very small as compared with theirs)." (Al-Bukhari and Muslim)

Asalamualykum,

Brother, I am not saying there is contradiction. Also Im not one who applies logic when it comes to understanding religion because I know that there are things that dont make sense to our human brains, even the most intelligent. But I wouldj ust like to at least understand this. Maybe its a matter of time scale. Adam (AS) will bring forth the people of the fire, then Allah will judge us?
If this is something that I should just accept as incomprehensible, then I certainly can... but in the mean time, i would at least try for it to make sense...
Could you try to explain further...

Walaykkum assalam wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu,

Honestly, I do not know. And neither have I come across explaination for your question. There is no evidence from Qur'an or Sunnah to explain this as you said "Maybe its a matter of time scale." Neither did the companions of the Prophet :saw2: asked such a question. If you read the whole hadeeth, this is what it says :

The Companions of the Prophet (Peace be upon him) asked, “O Allah’s Messenger! Who is that (excepted) one?” He said, “Rejoice with glad tidings; one person will be from you and one thousand will be from Gog and Magog.”

There are something we should accept as a fact and refrain from making assumptions (to try make it sense) because we do not have any sources to verify those things. Just like Hands of Allaah or Shin of Allaah.

I hope you understand that it is as incomprehensible to me as it is to you. But, I did not think of that question when I first listened to the hadith. The hadith only made me fear hell fire. So, I was least interested in the details of how it is going to happen. It will happen by the will of Allaah. What I learnt is we cannot take paradise for granted and that we should be careful of our sins and avoid negligence. Secondly, there is also glad tidings in the second part of the Hadeeth that these people going to hellfire in the hadith are from Gog and Magog. And the one who is a muslim and follows the Qur'an and Sunnah, is saved from hellfire.

I could explain by making assumptions of what would happen, but you know that statement would be false without evidences. You should understand I am not discouraging you from asking questions. It is just that I fear giving ignorant answers just for the sake for making sense to you.

But it is useful to read this - http://abdurrahman.org/qurantafseer/ibnkathir/ibnkathir_web/4.12804.html and this - http://abdurrahman.org/qurantafseer/ibnkathir/ibnkathir_web/22.33647.html .

It is mentioned in Tafseer ibn Kathir in Surah Al Hajj, so it is good read those verses as well.

Baarakallahu feekum.

JazakAllah Khair Brother,

I really appreciate that you always take time with my questions, whether you can answer or not, I know a lot of effort goes into it and I want to thank you. Allah bless you for that.

The hadith is clear and the message we need to derive from it is clear to me as well. But the question arose from me asking, what if I am not that "one", isn't Allah going to look at my deeds first? Is this judgement? Isnt Allah going to go through each and every one of us and make us accountable for our deeds? Maybe I'm babbling...

Well, I will accept it for what it is, incomprehensible. Take the precious message from the hadith. That is what is important.

JazakAllah khair for the links as well, will check them out.

Assalamu allaicum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu dear sister

As Muslims we believe that all knowledge has Allah subhanahu wa teala only, and Allah is the one who is decinding about everything.

That is why we should believe that it is not impossible or without logic that Allah will choose Prophet Adam alaihi salam to " choose" who is going to go in Janahhanam, because as it is understadable from Hadeeth and from logical thinking that Prophet Adam alaiahi salam will "choose" only from those mankind that Allah subhanahu wa teala has already decided to be punished with Jahannam, with judgment for our deeds first.

And of course dear sister that InshAllah we will respond for every our deed because Allah subhanahu wa teala sais: "When the earth is shaken the way it ought to be shaken, and the earth casts forth its burdens and man cries out: What is the matter with her?!’ On that Day, she will narrate her story at the intimation of your Lord.
On that Day, men will appear alone so that their deeds can be shown to them. Then whoever has done the smallest bit of good will see it, and whoever has done the smallest bit of evil will (also) see it." ( Surah Az Zilzal)

And Allah subhananahu wa teala knows the best.

Walaykum Salam warahmatullahi wa barakathu,

JazakAllah Khair sister for your explanation...
that Allah subhanahu wa teala has already decided to be punished with Jahannam, with judgment for our deeds first
.

These are along the lines that I was thinking as well.

Scary scary thoughts, but something we should discuss and remind ourselves everyday. I thought it would be all of us in a plain (field) and each person in turn will stand before Allah and account for his/her deeds... while others waited...

May Allah always guide us everyday towards Him and may we become closer to Him than to this dunya.

Assalamu allaicum wa rahmatullah wa barakatuhu

Wa iyyaki dear sister and Alhadmulillah that it was usefull for you.

Yes dear sister, we will stand infront of Allah subhanahu wa teala on Day of Judgment and on that way be questioned and be accoutable for all our deeds InshAllah.

Allah subhanahu wa teala sais:

“Then surely, We shall question those (people) to whom it (the book) was sent and verily, We shall question the Messengers.” ( Al-A’raf, Ayah 6 7)

“The Day is approaching when every soul shall find itself confronted with whatever good it has done and whatever evil it has wrought. It will then wish there is a wide space between it and the Day! Allah warns you to beware of Him; He is most tender towards His servants.” (Surat Al-Imran, 30)

“Verily! The hearing, and the sight, and the heart, of each of those, you will be questioned (by Allah)” ( Surat Al-Israa, Verse 36)

Allah Messanger sallahu alayhi wa saalam said: “The first thing the people will be accountable for on the Day of Judgment is prayer, Allah will say to His angels (even though he already knows) : “Look at my servants prayers. Were they complete or not?” If they were complete it will be written as complete. If they were not fully complete Allah will say: “See if my servant has voluntary prayers, if he has them Allah will say: Complete his obligatory prayers shortage with his voluntary prayers.” Then the rest of his deeds will be dealt with in the same manner.” (Reported by Imams Ahmad, Abu Dawood, An-Nisa’i, and Al-Hakim)
